Job Overview:
The Communication Associate position is integral to the Communications unit (COM) within WHO, aimed at enhancing awareness of health issues and increasing engagement with WHO among various stakeholders, including media, Member States, donors, and the general public. The role involves creating audiovisual materials, providing design guidance, and coordinating communication efforts for public health advocacy. The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Regional Communications Manager and the Executive Officer, Office of the Regional Director, to ensure that communication strategies align with WHO's objectives in the Western Pacific Region. This position requires a creative individual who can manage multiple projects, deliver high-quality outputs, and adapt to diverse environments while maintaining professional standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Communication Associate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:

• Creating audiovisual materials for the Communications unit and other regional and country offices, ensuring alignment with objectives, audience needs, distribution channels, timelines, and budgets.
• Providing design guidance for corporate communications, campaigns, and advocacy materials, ensuring adherence to approved specifications and deadlines.
• Delivering web- and print-ready files for various materials, including infographics, posters, brochures, and videos.
• Offering technical advice during all phases of studio and video production, ensuring quality outputs that meet the needs of regional and country offices.
• Coordinating interviews and events for various media platforms, including preparation for live or recorded broadcasts.
• Contributing to the planning and execution of major events with a communications focus, including audiovisual needs for conferences and campaigns.
• Performing other duties as required to support the overall objectives of the Communications unit.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• Essential: Completion of secondary education with additional training in audiovisual product creation.
• Desirable: A university degree in communications, film, multimedia, visual arts, or a related field. WHO only considers higher educational qualifications obtained from accredited institutions recognized in the World Higher Education Database (WHED).

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes:

• Essential: Completion of secondary education, complemented by additional training in the creation of audiovisual products.
• Desirable: A university degree in communications, film, multimedia, visual arts, or a related area, which is recognized by WHO's standards.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least eight (8) years of relevant work experience supporting audiovisual communication, preferably within a large organization. Experience working in the UN system is considered desirable, as it provides familiarity with the organization's operations and standards.

Languages:
Fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking) is essential, along with proficiency in the local language. Additional language skills may be beneficial but are not mandatory.

Additional Notes:
The position offers an attractive remuneration package, including an annual net base salary starting at PHP 1,025,043, subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance.
