Job Overview:
The MSF Access Digital Communications Officer will play a crucial role in enhancing the visibility and impact of MSF Access's advocacy efforts. This position involves creating and delivering engaging digital communications and campaigning materials that support MSF Access's objectives. The officer will be responsible for translating complex technical content into accessible and compelling digital formats, including social media plans, infographics, and short videos. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including the Digital Communications Advisor and Strategic Communications Advisors, to ensure that the messaging aligns with MSF's mission and advocacy goals. The officer will also engage with online communities to mobilize support and monitor social media for relevant issues, ensuring timely and effective responses. This position is vital for increasing awareness and understanding of MSF's work in improving access to healthcare products and services.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Digital Communications Officer will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including:
  • Multimedia and written content creation: Proposing and creating infographics, visuals, videos, animations, social media posts, web articles, and other innovative digital content to enhance MSF Access's online presence and engagement.
  • Social media management: Implementing and managing online platforms and third-party tools to ensure timely publication of content following best practices.
  • Online community engagement: Identifying relevant online communities and developing strategies to engage them, aiming to mobilize additional support for MSF Access communications.
  • Online monitoring: Monitoring social media for issues related to Access communications and proposing appropriate responses as necessary.
  • Email marketing: Collaborating with the Digital Advisor to create and disseminate the monthly newsletter and setting up email campaigns with the digital consultant.
  • Growing audiences: Assisting in the development and implementation of digital outreach and marketing strategies to expand target audiences.
  • Analytics and metrics: Contributing to the development of impact reports and insights for continuous data-driven improvement in collaboration with the Digital Comms Advisor and Digital Consultant.
  • Internal dissemination: Preparing and sharing communication packages with the MSF communications network through relevant internal platforms.
  • Internal engagement: Supporting engagement with communication officers in MSF country offices to facilitate the uptake of digital packages.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the MSF Access Digital Communications Officer position should possess a degree in communication, journalism, or a related field. They should have 2-3 years of experience in developing and executing social media and web content, preferably at a global level within the not-for-profit sector. Experience in producing graphics and videos for digital platforms is essential, and familiarity with email marketing is considered a plus. The ideal candidate should demonstrate attention to detail, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities, along with a proven track record of working across regions and multicultural teams. Proficiency in English is mandatory, and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced international environment is crucial. Additional languages are considered an advantage.

Educational Background:
A degree in communication, journalism, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background provides the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively create and manage digital communications and advocacy materials.

Experience:
The position requires 2-3 years of relevant experience in developing and executing social media and web content, ideally within the not-for-profit sector at a global level. Candidates should have experience in producing graphics and videos for digital platforms, as well as familiarity with email marketing strategies. The ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams and across different regions is essential.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory for this role. Additional languages are considered an advantage, as they can enhance communication and engagement with diverse audiences.

This is a full-time position (100%) with an open-ended contract. The starting date for the role is set for October 202
