Job Overview: The position of International Certified Executive Coach for Women in Leadership involves designing and delivering an executive coaching component within the Academy for Women in Public Leadership. This initiative aims to support women MPs, women in senior and middle-level government positions, and women mayors in leading with authenticity and impact. The coaching will focus on enhancing self-awareness, strengths-based leadership, psychological resilience, and holistic wellbeing, particularly under the pressures of public and political life. The role requires close collaboration with the UN Women team and entails reporting to the Programme Specialist, with support from a Project Analyst. The consultant will be responsible for creating a coaching framework aligned with International Coaching Federation standards, conducting individual and group coaching sessions, and developing a final report summarizing outcomes and recommendations for future cycles.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will be responsible for several key tasks: 1) Design the executive coaching framework and methodology for the Academy, ensuring alignment with International Coaching Federation standards, including intake and goal-setting instruments, coaching agreements, and confidentiality protocols. 2) Deliver individual executive coaching sessions for up to 30 participants, focusing on leadership identity, strengths-based development, decision-making under pressure, and work-life integration. 3) Facilitate group coaching sessions to foster peer learning and mutual support among women leaders. 4) Develop a final report summarizing aggregate progress, lessons learned, challenges, and recommendations for embedding coaching in future Academy cycles. 5) Collaborate closely with UN Women to ensure successful implementation of the coaching component and adapt tasks as necessary based on expertise.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent in fields such as Business Administration, Management, Psychology, or Organizational Development. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. A professional coaching certification, such as an International Coaching Federation credential at PCC or MCC level, is required. Additionally, executive coaching training from a recognized business school or accredited program is a strong asset. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to gender equality and women's empowerment.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree or equivalent in relevant fields such as Business Administration, Management, Psychology, or Organizational Development. A first-level university degree may be accepted if accompanied by two additional years of qualifying experience. Professional coaching certification is mandatory, and training from an internationally recognized institution is highly desirable.
Experience: Candidates should have at least 5 years of professional experience, including senior leadership roles in international corporations, public institutions, or international organizations. Experience in strengths-based and holistic coaching approaches is essential, along with a proven track record in designing and delivering female leadership programs. At least 3 years of experience in executive coaching for high-level decision-makers is considered advantageous. Experience in strategic communications and working in multicultural settings is also beneficial.
Languages: Fluency in English is required for this position. Knowledge of Romanian or any other UN official language is considered an asset, as interpretation will be provided as needed for group sessions.
Additional Notes: This consultancy is home-based, with travel arrangements for international consultants to be agreed upon with UN Women. The assignment is expected to last for 12 months, with the possibility of extension. The consultant will be compensated on a per-day basis, with payment contingent upon satisfactory performance and submission of deliverables. UN Women will handle logistics and participant coordination for the coaching sessions.
