Job Overview:
The NATO Project Coordinator for Infrastructure Project Implementation is responsible for overseeing and managing infrastructure projects within NATO's framework. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, including internal teams and external entities, to ensure that infrastructure projects align with NATO's strategic objectives. The Project Coordinator will support the implementation of the NATO 2030 Infrastructure Programmes, which aim to enhance NATO's military capabilities and readiness. The position requires a proactive approach to project management, ensuring that all necessary data is maintained and that projects are executed efficiently throughout their lifecycle. The incumbent will also be involved in site surveys and will provide guidance to contract staff, ensuring that projects are prepared for inclusion in NATO's infrastructure programmes. Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the NATO Project Coordinator include supporting the Section Head in tracking projects within NATO 2030 Infrastructure programmes, coordinating inputs and projects for submission to the Investment Committee, and ensuring that all necessary data is kept up to date in management information systems. The Project Coordinator will supervise contract staff, conduct regular reviews of development lines, and monitor the lifecycle implementation of infrastructure projects. Additionally, the incumbent will assess cost, scope, schedule, performance, and risk issues raised by project managers, provide inputs to information management systems, and conduct site surveys as required. The role also involves maintaining close working relationships with Programme Directors and Portfolio Managers, leading or supporting other Infrastructure Capabilities Projects as directed by the Branch Head, and ensuring effective communication with all stakeholders involved in the projects.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in architecture, civil engineering, infrastructure development, construction management, facilities management, military engineering, or a closely related discipline. A minimum of 2 years of function-related experience in infrastructure planning, development, delivery, coordination, or management is required. Alternatively, candidates with higher secondary education and advanced vocational training in a related field must have at least 4 years of post-related experience. Additionally, candidates should have four years of experience within Infrastructure and Facilities Programmes, two years of experience in delivering Infrastructure Facilities Projects, and two years of management experience in a large organization. Knowledge of NATO's governance and management model for common funded capabilities is desirable, as is professional accreditation in a recognized institution.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in a relevant field such as architecture, civil engineering, or military engineering. Candidates with higher secondary education and advanced vocational training leading to professional qualification are also considered, provided they have the requisite experience. Additional training in project management methodologies, such as PRINCE2 or equivalent, is advantageous. Education in risk management and resource management is also beneficial for this role.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have a minimum of two years of relevant experience in infrastructure planning and management, with a total of four years of experience in Infrastructure and Facilities Programmes. Experience in a multinational organization is essential, as is experience in delivering infrastructure projects. Management experience in a large organization is also a prerequisite, ensuring that candidates are equipped to handle the complexities of NATO's infrastructure initiatives.

Languages:
The mandatory language requirement for this position is English, with a proficiency level of SLP 3333, which includes listening, speaking, reading, and writing. While English is the primary language of communication, knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly those spoken in NATO member countries, as it can facilitate better communication with diverse stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This position is linked to a specific NATO project and is for a limited duration of three years. The contract duration is definite, and serving NATO International Civilian staff will be offered a contract in accordance with NATO Civilian Personnel Regulations. Newly recruited staff will also receive a three-year definite duration contract.
