Job Overview: The MSF International Drug Quality Assurance Leader is responsible for leading the drug quality assurance activities within MSF, focusing on identifying new quality sources of drug supply and consolidating the MSF drug quality assurance system. This role is crucial in ensuring that quality, safe, and efficacious medicines are utilized by MSF patients. The leader will work towards achieving a coordinated approach to quality medicines within the European Supply Centres (ESCs), enhancing synergies and efficiency gains. Additionally, the role involves monitoring international regulatory developments that may impact MSF's operations. The successful candidate will coordinate with various stakeholders, including pharmacists and external experts, to implement the MSF Qualification Scheme for international procurement and ensure adherence to common specifications and procedures across all sections and ESCs.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the MSF International Drug Quality Assurance Leader include developing clear goals aligned with agreed strategies for identifying and selecting essential medicines, coordinating with ESCs on pharmaceutical aspects related to sourcing and usage, managing the MSF Quality Management System (QMS) for medicines, and ensuring compliance with quality assurance standards. The leader will also be responsible for conducting audits, managing corrective and preventive actions, writing annual reports on QA activities, and providing technical guidance to ESC pharmacists. Furthermore, the role involves participating in external networks and meetings with key international actors to improve the quality of medicines in the global market, acting as a focal point for working groups, and contributing to the strategic direction of the Pharma Network.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a solid technical background in Quality Assurance and Good Manufacturing Practices, along with well-founded risk assessment skills. A strong operational experience within MSF is essential, as well as practical knowledge of MSF's quality and procurement policies. The ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks effectively is crucial, along with the capacity to work independently and synthesize complex information. Strong communication and influencing skills are necessary to represent MSF in external meetings and to motivate team members. Candidates should also demonstrate maturity and judgment in decision-making and conflict resolution.
Educational Background: A Master's degree in Pharmacy is required for this position. This educational background provides the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of drug quality assurance and the regulatory environment surrounding pharmaceuticals.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of professional experience is required, with at least 2 years of experience specifically within MSF. Candidates must have mandatory experience in quality assurance, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the processes and standards involved in ensuring drug quality.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this role, while proficiency in French is considered a plus. The ability to communicate effectively in both languages will enhance collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Additional Notes: This position offers a permanent contract at 100% capacity, with a starting date as soon as possible. The successful candidate will be expected to work from any MSF office that can issue a contract based on their country of residence at the time of application. If no MSF office exists in the candidate's country, relocation to a country with an MSF office will be necessary, provided local legislation permits. The compensation and benefits package will align with the MSF entity offering the contract. Regular travel, primarily within Europe, is expected as part of the role.
