Job Overview: The position of Asesor para el Cambio en Pedagogía is crucial for the implementation of the UNESCO-Quellaveco-Reimagina project, which aims to enhance the educational experience of 12,000 students in the Moquegua region of Peru. The consultant will provide technical assistance and pedagogical support to school leaders and teachers in prioritized educational institutions. The role involves working closely with educators to improve student learning outcomes through innovative methodologies and active learning strategies. The consultant will be responsible for planning and coordinating educational programs, ensuring that projects address real community issues, and promoting visibility for successful educational transformations. This position requires a proactive approach to fostering collaboration among educational stakeholders and contributing to the overall success of the project.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:
Planning and program coordination: Collaborate with school leadership to strengthen educational teams and ensure that learning projects address community challenges.
Pedagogical advisory: Develop and evaluate training actions for educational stakeholders, guiding them in project development using active learning methodologies.
Reporting: Organize and analyze project data for monthly and quarterly reports, ensuring compliance with educational objectives.
Teamwork: Foster a collaborative environment among project teams and participate in regular meetings to enhance project performance.
Additional functions: Support the organization of educational festivals and congresses, contributing to the overall educational landscape in the region.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a degree in Education or a related field, with a specialization in mathematics being desirable. A postgraduate degree in education, social sciences, or related areas is also preferred. Additionally, candidates should have over eight years of professional experience, including at least five years in teaching roles within public educational institutions at the primary or secondary level. Experience in educational projects as an advisor or technical assistant is essential, along with a proven track record in managing educational networks and community engagement.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a bachelor's degree in Education or a related field. A specialization in mathematics is desirable, and candidates with postgraduate studies in education or social sciences will be given preference. This educational foundation is critical for understanding the pedagogical frameworks and methodologies that will be employed in the project.
Experience: The position requires significant experience, specifically over eight years in the education sector. Candidates should have at least five years of teaching experience in public educational institutions, focusing on primary or secondary education. Furthermore, candidates must have participated in at least three educational projects, demonstrating their ability to provide pedagogical support and technical assistance effectively. Experience in community-based educational initiatives and innovation in teaching practices is also essential.

Additional Notes: The contract for this consultancy will last for four months, with the possibility of extension based on budget availability and performance evaluation. The position is open to external candidates, and the consultant will be expected to work on-site in Lima, with potential travel within and outside the country as required by the project. The consultant must be willing to relocate to Ilo in the Moquegua region if not already residing there. The role does not include medical coverage or expectations for contract renewal.
