Job Overview:
The Nutrition Analyst position at WFP is a critical role within the Nutrition, School Meals, and Social Protection division, focusing on enhancing security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">food security and nutrition outcomes in vulnerable populations. The analyst will be involved in assessing market-based nutrition interventions and local food solutions, analyzing data related to dietary intake and food prices, and evaluating the nutritional adequacy of cash-based transfers. The role requires a strong analytical background to support the development of evidence-based policies and programs aimed at improving access to nutritious diets. The analyst will work closely with government counterparts and WFP Country Offices to strengthen their capacity in conducting nutrition analyses and translating findings into actionable program designs. This position is essential for ensuring that WFP's interventions are informed by robust data and tailored to meet the specific needs of communities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Nutrition Analyst will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: conducting assessments of market-based nutrition interventions and local food solutions; reviewing data on household food expenditure and dietary intake; analyzing the feasibility of meeting nutritional needs for children at risk of malnutrition; assessing the nutritional adequacy of cash-based transfers; strengthening the application of WFP's Enhance analytical platform; developing and delivering training on cost and affordability analysis; supporting country offices in establishing monitoring systems; conducting secondary data reviews to inform design" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">program design; providing technical support to stakeholders; and preparing decision-support and advocacy products. The analyst will also contribute to the development of tailored training materials and facilitate capacity-building activities for enumerators and government counterparts.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a graduate-level degree (Masters or above) in relevant fields such as Public Health, Nutrition, Economics, or related socio-economic disciplines with a strong quantitative data analysis component. Proficiency in conducting both quantitative and qualitative data analysis is essential, along with the ability to use statistical software packages such as R or STATA. Knowledge of nutrition and food systems, as well as experience with dietary assessment and nutrition modeling tools, is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in multicultural settings are also required, along with flexibility and adaptability in various situations.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a graduate-level degree (Masters or higher) in fields such as Public Health, Nutrition, Economics, Sustainable Food Systems, Agronomy, Statistics, or other socio-economic disciplines that emphasize quantitative data analysis. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of food security and nutrition, as well as for conducting rigorous data analyses that inform programmatic decisions.

Experience:
Candidates should have between 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience, particularly in research and data analysis related to nutrition and food security. Experience working in low- to middle-income countries, especially in fragile contexts, is considered an asset. Familiarity with dietary assessment methodologies and nutrition modeling tools, as well as experience in conducting analyses that inform program design and policy recommendations, is highly valued.

Languages:
A professional level of written and spoken English is mandatory, with the ability to communicate effectively in various formats. Proficiency in a second UN language, such as French, Spanish, or Arabic, is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's competitiveness for the position.
