Job Overview: The OSCE Project Associate will be part of the Economic Governance Unit (EGU) within the OSCE Secretariat, specifically working on the project 'Innovative Policy Solutions to Mitigate Money Laundering Risks of Virtual Assets.' The Project Associate will report to the Senior Project Officer and will be responsible for delivering assigned project outcomes, adapting internal processes to meet project needs, and providing technical support. The role requires a proactive approach to project management, including conducting independent research, monitoring developments in relevant sectors, and coordinating project activities such as workshops and training interventions. The Project Associate will also be involved in preparing reports, managing budgets, and liaising with various stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of project activities.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Project Associate will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including: conducting independent research and monitoring developments in the relevant sector; collating and presenting data that may impact the project; designing and implementing project activities such as workshops and conferences; coordinating reporting requirements and preparing substantive input for progress and financial reports; monitoring the administration of assigned project outcomes, including budget tracking; coordinating administrative arrangements for events; developing project databases; using ERP systems for various administrative tasks; and liaising with governmental and non-governmental institutions to collect and share information related to the project.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have completed secondary education, supplemented by specialized training or formal studies in fields such as International Relations, Political Science, Economics, Law, or Public Administration. A minimum of six years of working experience in project planning, implementation, and reporting is required. Candidates should have established knowledge in good governance, anti-corruption, and anti-money laundering, particularly concerning cryptocurrencies and virtual assets. Strong research skills, experience in developing training materials, and knowledge of blockchain technology are essential. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are mandatory, and knowledge of other OSCE working languages, especially Russian, is a strong asset. Candidates should demonstrate gender awareness and sensitivity, and the ability to work in diverse teams.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a high school diploma or equivalent, with additional specialized training or formal studies in relevant fields such as International Relations, Political Science, Economics, Law, or Social Sciences. Additional Notes: This position is a fixed-term contract at the G6 level, with a full-time schedule. The monthly remuneration is approximately EUR 5,580, subject to social security deductions, and OSCE salaries are exempt from taxation in Austria.
