Job Overview: The Senior Project Associate (Institutional Donor Engagement) plays a crucial role within IOM Netherlands, acting as the focal point for the Mission's engagement with institutional donors. This position is vital for supporting donor relations, resource mobilization, and stewardship activities, ensuring alignment with IOM's corporate fundraising frameworks. The Senior Project Associate will contribute to the implementation of the Mission's fundraising strategy, coordinate donor engagement activities, and manage donor intelligence and institutional memory. The role requires close collaboration with various IOM offices, including SRO Brussels, RO Vienna, and Headquarters, to ensure effective communication and coordination in donor engagement efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for organizing donor meetings, briefings, and high-level visits, as well as maintaining documentation and reporting on donor engagement activities.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Senior Project Associate include: acting as the focal point for institutional donor engagement for IOM Netherlands; supporting donor coordination, briefings, reporting follow-up, and visibility requirements; implementing and monitoring the Mission's fundraising and donor engagement initiatives; coordinating the preparation and organization of donor meetings, briefings, and high-level donor visits, including the creation of agendas, briefing notes, and follow-up actions; serving as the national COMPASS focal point to support alignment with corporate resource mobilization processes; acting as the CRM focal point to ensure accurate and systematic donor data entry and maintenance of institutional memory; providing inputs for donor updates, briefing notes, concept notes, and tailored engagement materials; coordinating with SRO Brussels, RO Vienna, and Headquarters on donor engagement, funding opportunities, and reporting requirements; monitoring institutional donor priorities, funding trends, and risks relevant to IOM Netherlands; and performing any other related duties as required.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a high school diploma with six years of relevant professional experience, or a Bachelor's degree in International Relations, Political Science, Development Studies, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience. Accredited universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. Additionally, candidates should have experience in donor relations, fundraising, external relations, or institutional partnerships, with experience coordinating donor engagement, reporting, or resource mobilization processes considered an asset. Previous experience in an international organization, UN agency, or governmental context is advantageous.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a high school diploma or a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as International Relations, Political Science, Development Studies, Economics, or Business Administration. Languages: Fluency in English and Dutch is required for this position, both oral and written. All IOM staff members are required to be fluent in one of the organization's official languages, which include English, French, and Spanish. A working knowledge of other IOM languages, such as Spanish or French, is considered an advantage. The proficiency of the required languages will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments to ensure candidates meet the language requirements effectively.
Additional Notes: This position is subject to local recruitment, meaning only candidates holding a valid residence and work permit for the Netherlands will be considered. The initial contract may be for a duration shorter than one year to align with the work permit expiry date. Any offer made to the candidate is contingent upon funding confirmation. The selection process may also be used to staff similar positions in various duty stations, and recommended candidates will remain eligible for appointment in a similar position for a period of 24 months.
