Job Overview:
The Associate Product Manager will play a pivotal role within the Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidential Unit (VPU) of the World Bank Group. This position is crucial for enabling the organization to achieve its mission of ending extreme poverty and boosting shared prosperity by delivering transformative information and technologies to staff across over 150 locations. The role involves engaging with business stakeholders to understand product requirements, managing the product roadmap, and facilitating stakeholder communication to enhance product delivery. The Associate Product Manager will also be responsible for identifying opportunities for process simplification and operational efficiency, thereby ensuring that the digital tools provided to the organization are effective and aligned with its strategic goals. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong communication skills to navigate the complexities of product management in a global context.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Associate Product Manager include: A. Eliciting Business Requirements: Engaging with business stakeholders to understand product requirements and goals, synthesizing needs, pain points, and opportunities across the Financing domain. Conducting market and user research to inform product strategy and incorporating user feedback and analytics to validate and refine requirements. B. Managing the Product Roadmap: Defining and communicating the product strategy, roadmap, and overall vision while ensuring alignment with ITS/WBG priorities and client outcomes. Driving product decisions by balancing business value, operational risk, compliance requirements, technical feasibility, and user experience considerations. Identifying opportunities for process simplification, automation, and operational efficiency across the financing lifecycle. Leading collaboration with the Agile Release Train to ensure timely and successful delivery of the product roadmap. C. Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitating stakeholder communication to identify opportunities for improvements to the product roadmap and vision, building consensus across business and technical teams. Serving as the primary point of contact for the product and overseeing vendor relationships to ensure resource availability and successful product vision delivery. D. Financial Management and Performance: Proposing strategic investments to support product development, monitoring financial management of the product, and defining and tracking success metrics for outcomes, adoption, reliability, and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a Master’s degree in computer science or a related STEM field with at least 8 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates should demonstrate expertise in product management for complex product portfolios, advanced stakeholder engagement, product performance management, and data-driven decision-making. Familiarity with emerging technologies, systems thinking, and change management methodologies is also essential. Additionally, candidates should possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, and have experience working in large, complex organizations or international development settings.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have a Master’s degree in computer science or a related STEM field, or a Bachelor’s degree with significant relevant experience. The educational background should reflect a strong foundation in technology and product management principles, with a focus on understanding complex systems and digital transformation.

Experience:
The Associate Product Manager should have a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience if holding a Master’s degree, or at least 10 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree. Experience in product management, particularly in complex environments, is crucial, as is familiarity with Agile methodologies and the ability to navigate large organizational structures effectively.

Languages:
The mandatory language for this position is English. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered a plus, particularly if they are relevant to the World Bank's operational regions.
