Job Overview:
The position of Assistant AirC2 Capability Assessment is a temporary role aimed at supporting the Command and Control Systems Operational User and Support Branch (C2SOUS) within NATO. The successful candidate will be involved in the development, management, and coordination of operational requirements and interoperability aspects of Command and Control (C2) systems. The role is critical in assisting the AIRC2 Analyst in the Independent Programme Office (iPO) and involves participation in trials and testing events for assessing selected AIRC2 solutions. The candidate will work closely with various stakeholders, including users, NATO agencies, and industry partners, to ensure the operational acceptance of new AIRC2 system components. This position requires a proactive approach and the ability to work in a fast-paced international environment, with a focus on delivering results in a timely manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Assistant AirC2 Capability Assessment include supporting the selection and acquisition process of future Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) capabilities, developing the Operational Acceptance roadmap, contributing to the development and review of Operational Acceptance Criteria (OAC), and supporting the creation of operational and technical specifications for evaluating available solutions. The role also involves planning activities related to the upgrade of facilities and hardware, facilitating trials and testing events, preparing for User/Operational Acceptance Testing (UAT/OAT), and coordinating with AIRCOM Headquarters to support operational users. Additionally, the incumbent will produce reports after trials and testing events to support decision-making processes and assist in the evaluation of available technologies for Allied decisions on technical solutions.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess comprehensive knowledge of Air Command & Control systems and operational assessment procedures used in NATO. They should have experience in conducting operational trials and testing events related to AirC2 systems, as well as familiarity with IAMD issues at the NATO Command Structure (NCS) and NATO Force Structure (NFS) levels. A strong understanding of the NCS Air C2 organization and battle management of air operations is essential. The position requires a flexible mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams.

Educational Background:
The educational requirements for this position include higher secondary education with intermediate vocational training leading to a formal qualification and at least 2 years of relevant experience, or secondary education with completed advanced vocational training leading to a professional qualification or accreditation with 4 years of related experience. In cases of ambiguity, job-specific experience takes precedence over standard educational qualifications.

Experience:
Candidates should have a proven track record of relevant experience in the field of Air Command & Control systems, operational assessment, and acceptance procedures within NATO. Experience in conducting operational trials and testing events is crucial, as is familiarity with IAMD-related issues and the NCS/NFS level operations.

Languages:
The mandatory language requirement for this position is English, with proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing at the SLP 3333 level. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not explicitly required.

Additional Notes:
The position is a temporary role with a contract duration set until 31 December 2026, with the possibility of extension. The work schedule is 38 hours per week, and employees are entitled to 2.5 paid days of leave for each month worked.
