Job Overview: The Communication Officer (Digital Engagement & Marketing Content) is responsible for leading the strategic use of digital channels to enhance UNICEF Thailand's communication, fundraising, and advocacy priorities. This role is pivotal in driving the office's digital supporter engagement strategy, ensuring that content, campaigns, and user experiences are optimized for maximum reach, impact, and conversion across various platforms including web and social media. The officer is tasked with delivering measurable growth in digital engagement, safeguarding UNICEF's brand in digital spaces, integrating digital engagement into all aspects of UNICEF's work, and leading innovation in digital strategy to keep the organization relevant and competitive in an evolving landscape. The position emphasizes a digital-first approach to mobilize support for lasting change for every child.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Communication Officer will be accountable for several key responsibilities:
Delivering measurable growth in digital engagement by expanding and diversifying UNICEF Thailand's online supporter base, enhancing interaction quality, and converting engagement into tangible advocacy actions and fundraising outcomes.
Safeguarding UNICEF's brand and credibility in digital spaces by ensuring all online content adheres to global brand guidelines, proactively managing risks, and protecting the organization's reputation across platforms.
Integrating digital engagement into every aspect of UNICEF's work, ensuring that digital strategies are not merely supplementary but core to achieving results in public advocacy campaigns, program visibility, donor stewardship, and partner activations.
Leading innovation in digital strategy by staying ahead of trends, technologies, and algorithms to continuously refine UNICEF's digital presence, adopting new approaches that maintain the organization's relevance and competitiveness.
Collaborating with various teams to ensure that digital engagement is embedded in all initiatives, thereby mobilizing the necessary support to deliver impactful results for children.
Required Qualifications: To qualify as an advocate for every child, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
Education: A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations/Communication, Digital Media, or related fields.
Work Experience: A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in Communication, Broadcast media, Interactive digital media, or related fields.
Skills: Proven experience in Marketing Strategy, Data Analytics, Fundraising, Leadership, and Team Management.
Language Requirements: Proficiency in Thai and English (both written and spoken) is required. Desirable qualifications include knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish), familiarity with emergency situations, relevant experience at the country level, particularly in development, fragile settings, and humanitarian contexts, and familiarity with analytics and performance tools such as Google Analytics, Meta Insights, and social listening platforms.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in fields such as Communications, Journalism, Public Relations/Communication, Digital Media, or other related disciplines. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate has the foundational knowledge and skills necessary for effective communication and digital engagement.
Experience: The position requires at least 2 years of relevant work experience in Communication, Broadcast media, Interactive digital media, or related fields. This experience should demonstrate the candidate's ability to effectively engage with digital platforms and audiences, manage communication strategies, and contribute to fundraising and advocacy efforts.
Languages: Proficiency in Thai and English (both written and spoken) is mandatory for this position. Additionally, knowledge of another official UN language such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish is considered desirable and may enhance a candidate's application.
