Job Overview: The Procurement and logistics-officer" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Logistics Officer will work under the supervision of the Procurement and Logistics Manager, ensuring timely procurement and delivery of goods and services essential for project operations. Duties and Responsibilities: The officer will guarantee effective, efficient, and timely procurement in strict adherence to FHI 360's procurement policies and procedures. Responsibilities include developing and implementing procurement plans, promoting resource optimization principles, conducting market studies, and maintaining strong partnerships with suppliers and internal clients. The officer will coordinate the annual supplier prequalification process, define technical specifications and quality criteria for required goods and services, prepare tender documents, and manage the reception and evaluation of bids. Additionally, the officer will administer supplier contracts, ensure compliance with legal requirements, and oversee the performance evaluation of the supply chain. Responsibilities also include managing inventory, ensuring quality and safety of procured goods, facilitating annual audits, and providing logistical support for project activities.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree with a specialization in logistics or supply chain management. A minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional experience in procurement and logistics is required. Previous experience working with a UN agency or an international NGO is preferred, particularly in emergency and humanitarian response contexts. Familiarity with U.S. government-funded programs is a significant advantage. Proficiency in French (reading, writing, and speaking) is mandatory, while knowledge of Swahili is preferred. Proficiency in English is considered an asset.
