Job Overview:
The Finance Associate position at FHI 360 is primarily responsible for managing financial transactions related to the projects 'Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control' (EpiC) and Kitumaini in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This role involves preparing and processing payments to suppliers and partners, ensuring compliance with FHI 360's financial procedures, and maintaining accurate financial records in the accounting software DPA and GFAS. The Finance Associate will work under the supervision of the Finance & Operations Manager and will be based in Lubumbashi and Mbujimayi, with a focus on supporting the health sector in the region. The position is open exclusively to Congolese nationals residing in the designated areas, and candidates living openly with HIV or representing populations affected by HIV are encouraged to apply.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Finance Associate will be responsible for receiving and verifying all supplier invoices, ensuring that all supporting documentation is accurate before processing payments. They will prepare payments for suppliers and partners while strictly adhering to FHI 360's procedures. The role includes recording project transactions in the DPA and GFAS accounting software, maintaining an organized filing system for all financial documents related to the EpiC project, and actively participating in the monthly financial closing process. Additional responsibilities include scanning vouchers and financial documents for upload to the country office SharePoint, preparing monthly cash projections for fund requisition, capturing partner implementation advances in the DPA and GFAS systems, and supervising the management of petty cash in Lubumbashi and Mbujimayi. The list of tasks is not exhaustive and may be updated to ensure the effective functioning of FHI 360.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in accounting, management, finance, or a related field. A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in finance and accounting is required. Previous experience working with U.S. Government-funded programs is a significant advantage, as is prior experience in managing project implementation partners. Strong communication skills and proficiency in both written and spoken English and French are essential, with knowledge of local languages such as Lingala or Swahili considered a plus. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and positively with clients and staff, possess strong computer skills, particularly in Word and Excel, and have a keen attention to detail and quality while meeting deadlines. The ability to travel within the country is also necessary.

Educational Background:
A university degree in accounting, management, finance, or a closely related field is required for this position. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge necessary for managing financial transactions and understanding the complexities of financial reporting and compliance within the context of international development projects.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in finance and accounting. Candidates with experience in U.S. Government-funded programs will be given preference, as this experience is crucial for understanding the specific financial regulations and reporting requirements associated with such funding. Languages:

Additional Notes:
The expected hiring salary range for this role is between USD 16,500 and 22,000 annually, which includes basic salary and allowances for national local hires. When determining the offer amount, FHI 360 considers various factors, including the applicant's relevant years of experience and education, internal equity, market pay, and budget constraints.
