Job Overview: The position of UNESCO Consultant is designed for a senior-level professional who will contribute to the Education Sector (ED) of UNESCO. The consultant will be expected to deliver high-quality outputs within a specified timeframe, focusing on educational initiatives that align with UNESCO's mission. The role involves working remotely, allowing for flexibility while ensuring that the consultant meets the organization's standards of professionalism and integrity. The consultant will be responsible for developing educational strategies, conducting research, and providing expert advice on educational policies and programs. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to achieve educational goals.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to: conducting comprehensive assessments of current educational programs, developing and proposing new educational initiatives, collaborating with educational institutions and stakeholders to enhance program effectiveness, preparing detailed reports and presentations on findings and recommendations, facilitating workshops and training sessions for educators and administrators, and ensuring that all deliverables are completed on time and meet the quality standards set by UNESCO. The consultant will also be expected to engage in continuous knowledge sharing and improvement practices within the team and contribute to the overall objectives of the Education Sector.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong background in education, with a focus on policy development, program implementation, and evaluation. A proven track record of working with international organizations, particularly in the field of education, is essential. The consultant should demonstrate excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively. Additionally, candidates should have a strong understanding of UNESCO's core values and mission, and be committed to promoting diversity and inclusion in educational settings.
Educational Background: A master's degree or higher in education, social sciences, or a related field is required for this position. Candidates with a PhD or equivalent experience in educational research or policy development will be given preference. Continuous professional development in relevant areas is also highly regarded.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have at least 5-7 years of relevant experience in educational consulting, program management, or policy analysis. Experience working with governmental and non-governmental organizations, as well as familiarity with international education frameworks, is highly desirable. The consultant should also have a demonstrated ability to work in multicultural environments and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, while proficiency in French is highly desirable. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly those spoken in the regions where UNESCO operates, will be considered an asset.
