Job Overview:
The WASH Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, planning, implementing, and ensuring the quality control of WASH activities and services related to the Ebola response project. This role involves managing associated resources, contributing to the development of technical approaches, and ensuring adherence to WASH and Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) standards. The coordinator supervises field teams, provides technical support, develops relationships with stakeholders, and contributes to strategic decisions impacting the quality, relevance, and effectiveness of interventions. The position specifically focuses on ensuring the technical quality of WASH interventions in health facilities and areas affected by Ebola, emphasizing the implementation of infection prevention and control measures. The coordinator must ensure that projects target participants most in need of protection and explore new and better ways to assist.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The WASH Project Coordinator has a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:

• General Responsibilities: Adhering to NRC policies, guidelines, and procedures; ensuring projects target the most vulnerable participants; promoting the rights of displaced/returnee individuals in line with advocacy strategies; contributing to the development of the CC strategy, Micro LogFrame, and Action Plan; adjusting WASH programs based on epidemiological and humanitarian contexts; conducting technical assessments and formulating recommendations; contributing to sector coordination mechanisms; developing technical indicators and monitoring mechanisms; ensuring proper documentation of project materials.
• Specific Responsibilities: Coordinating and supervising WASH activities in accordance with project documents and operational plans; ensuring operational planning of WASH/IPC activities, including safe water supply, water treatment and disinfection, handwashing stations, sanitation infrastructure, waste management systems, and decontamination activities; providing technical support to schools, health facilities, isolation centers, and treatment centers as needed; developing synergies with NRC's other core competencies for integrated approaches; identifying and selecting beneficiaries based on vulnerability criteria; supervising water treatment and distribution activities; ensuring proper preparation of chlorinated solutions; monitoring residual chlorine and water quality parameters; establishing quality control mechanisms; evaluating WASH needs in targeted health facilities, community spaces, and schools; supervising the design, installation, and maintenance of WASH infrastructures; collaborating with school and community leaders; identifying WASH risks that could facilitate Ebola transmission; supervising medical waste management systems; ensuring compliance with national protocols and WHO/IPC standards; training and supporting teams on safe waste management practices; ensuring technical quality control of WASH projects; conducting regular field supervision visits; verifying compliance with NRC standards; developing quality control tools; promoting technical innovations; managing and supervising WASH staff; identifying capacity-building needs; organizing necessary training; participating in the design of training modules; ensuring technical coaching of teams; developing effective synergies with other Ebola response components; participating in coordination meetings; representing NRC in technical meetings; ensuring the sharing of technical information and best practices; contributing to financial monitoring of WASH activities; collaborating with finance, logistics, and procurement teams; tracking activity progress against budgets and indicators; participating in the development and monitoring of WASH indicators; ensuring data collection, analysis, and validation; contributing to internal and external reporting; and ensuring complete archiving of project documents.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires the following qualifications: At least 3 years of professional experience in coordinating or managing humanitarian WASH projects, ideally in health emergency or epidemic contexts; demonstrated experience in implementing WASH programs in complex settings; experience supervising technical teams; experience coordinating with health authorities and humanitarian actors; experience in WASH interventions related to epidemics (Ebola, cholera, or other infectious diseases) is a significant advantage; strong written and oral proficiency in French; knowledge of English and local languages is an asset.

Educational Background:
Candidates must hold at least a degree in engineering (equivalent to BAC+5) in civil engineering, rural engineering, hydraulics, public works, or a similar field. A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in humanitarian activities, management of activities, team supervision, and coordination of activities is required. A minimum of 4 years of experience in designing and constructing WASH infrastructures is also necessary.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in humanitarian activities, including management of activities and team supervision. Languages:
Proficiency in French is mandatory, both written and spoken. Knowledge of English and local languages is considered an asset, enhancing communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
