Job Overview:
The Corporate Finance Senior Risk Manager plays a crucial role in the Risk Management division of the EBRD, focusing on the independent analysis and appraisal of risks associated with the bank's portfolio of debt transactions in the corporate sector. This position requires a deep understanding of risk assessment and management, as the individual will be responsible for identifying necessary due diligence, recommending risk mitigation measures, and advising on transaction structures, including security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, covenants, and pricing. The Senior Risk Manager will also review portfolio projects, assign credit ratings, and communicate trends and lessons learned to management and peers, thereby influencing strategic decision-making and stress-testing processes. Additionally, this role involves leading and coaching junior staff, ensuring compliance with the bank's sound banking mandate, and actively participating in various executive committees to provide insights and recommendations on credit concerns and project approvals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Corporate Finance Senior Risk Manager will establish an independent view on projects proposed to the Operations Committee and Small Business Investment Committee (SBIC), making clear recommendations or approvals on each proposal. Key responsibilities include analyzing risks of each proposal, advising on risk mitigation measures, and ensuring compliance with relevant risk guidelines and prudential limits set by the bank. The Senior Risk Manager will appraise the validity of key assumptions, deliver authoritative conclusions under tight deadlines, and take ownership of risk data within their area of responsibility. They will also lead proactive monitoring of assigned portfolio counterparties, engage constructively with banking staff, and collaborate with other risk management teams to conduct sector portfolio reviews and contribute to stress-tests. Furthermore, the Senior Risk Manager will mentor junior bankers and promote a strong credit culture within the organization.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess relevant experience in the corporate sectors, demonstrating deal experience across various sectors. Strong influencing skills are essential for overseeing transaction structuring and articulating differing views within the banking team. Experience in structuring high-yield loans and other financial instruments in both corporate and project finance is required. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record in autonomous decision-making at a senior level in credit risk, particularly in high-risk environments. Strong written and spoken communication skills in English, along with advanced Excel knowledge, are mandatory. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate developing people management skills for coaching junior staff and possess relevant banking and/or risk management experience.

Educational Background:
A relevant advanced degree in finance, business, economics, or equivalent on-the-job training is required for this position. The educational background should provide a solid foundation in financial principles, risk management practices, and analytical skills necessary for effective decision-making in a complex financial environment.

Experience:
The position requires significant experience in corporate finance and risk management, particularly in high-risk environments. Candidates should have a proven ability to make autonomous decisions and provide operational guidelines to banking teams. Experience in credit risk assessment and management, as well as a strong understanding of financial instruments and transaction structuring, is essential.

Languages:
