Job Overview:
The Communications Associate (Multimedia) position is designed for a creative individual who will be responsible for developing and implementing multimedia communication strategies that effectively convey IOM's mission and activities. This role requires a strong understanding of various multimedia platforms and the ability to create engaging content that resonates with diverse audiences. The associate will work closely with the communications team to produce high-quality visual and audio materials, including videos, podcasts, and graphic designs, that highlight IOM's projects and initiatives. The position also involves collaborating with other departments to ensure that communication efforts align with organizational goals and effectively promote IOM's work in the region.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and produce multimedia content, including videos, infographics, and social media posts, to promote IOM's activities and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with program teams to gather information and create compelling narratives that showcase the impact of IOM's work.
  • Manage IOM's social media channels, ensuring timely and engaging content is shared with followers.
  • Assist in organizing and promoting events, workshops, and campaigns through multimedia channels.
  • Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of communication strategies and adjust approaches as necessary.
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of multimedia assets and ensure proper documentation and archiving.
  • Support the development of communication materials for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about trends in multimedia communication and recommend innovative approaches to enhance IOM's outreach efforts.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in multimedia production, including video editing, graphic design, and content creation.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital communication strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with migration issues and IOM's work is an asset.
  • Proficiency in using multimedia software and tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, or similar applications.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in communications, media studies, graphic design, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in multimedia production or marketing" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">digital marketing are a plus.

Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in multimedia communications, content creation, or a related field is required. Experience working in an international organization or non-profit sector is preferred.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Spanish is mandatory. Knowledge of additional languages is considered an asset and may enhance the candidate's profile.
