Project Associate - WASH/NFI

Job Overview:
The Project Associate for WASH/NFI will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) programs, as well as the distribution of non-food items (NFI) in response to humanitarian needs. This position requires a proactive individual who can coordinate with various stakeholders, including local authorities, NGOs, and community groups, to ensure effective program delivery. The Project Associate will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating project activities, ensuring compliance with IOM standards, and contributing to the overall strategic objectives of the organization. The role also involves data collection and analysis to inform program improvements and reporting to donors and stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of WASH and NFI projects in accordance with IOM policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with local authorities and partners to ensure the timely delivery of WASH services and NFI distributions.
• Conduct assessments to identify the needs of affected populations and recommend appropriate interventions.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including reports, budgets, and work plans.
• Monitor project progress and outcomes, ensuring that objectives are met within the specified timeframe.
• Facilitate training sessions for staff and community members on WASH best practices and NFI usage.
• Collaborate with the M&E team to collect data and analyze project impact.
• Participate in coordination meetings with stakeholders to share updates and gather feedback.

• Support the development of project proposals and funding applications as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of WASH and NFI programming in humanitarian contexts.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and engage with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data management software.
• Knowledge of humanitarian principles and standards, including Sphere Standards and the Humanitarian Accountability Partnership.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in social sciences, public health, international development, or a related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred and may be considered an asset.

Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in project management, preferably in the humanitarian sector. Experience working with international organizations or NGOs is highly desirable. Familiarity with the local context and challenges in Venezuela is an advantage.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory. Proficiency in English is considered an asset. Knowledge of other local languages is a plus.

Additional Notes:
