Job Overview:
The Associate Sustainability Reporting position is integral to the EBRD's sustainability reporting efforts, particularly in the context of evolving global standards such as the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards (ISSB). The role involves close collaboration with the Associate Director of Sustainability Reporting and various departments within the Bank, including Climate Risk Management and Environment & Sustainability. The Associate will contribute to the preparation of high-quality sustainability disclosures, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements and reflect best practices in the sector. This position is crucial during a time of significant regulatory changes, and the Associate will help shape the Bank's sustainability reporting agenda, contributing to impactful outputs that are externally visible and aligned with the Bank's mission.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Associate will be responsible for the preparation and validation of specific disclosure areas within the Bank's sustainability reports, ensuring alignment with ISSB standards. Key responsibilities include coordinating inputs from various departments to guarantee the completeness and quality of disclosures, analyzing sustainability data for accuracy, and reviewing contributions from teams to enhance overall disclosure quality. The Associate will also support the annual external assurance process by preparing necessary documentation and addressing auditor inquiries. Additionally, the role involves maintaining robust documentation and controls over sustainability reporting metrics, assessing new frameworks like ISSB and TCFD, and collaborating with stakeholders across multiple teams to identify opportunities for improving data quality and reporting efficiency.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a degree in Accounting, Finance, Sustainability, Economics, or a related field, or have equivalent experience. A professional qualification such as ACA or ACCA is preferred, or candidates should be working towards such qualifications. Relevant certifications in sustainability or ESG are considered a strong asset. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in sustainability reporting, climate or ESG disclosures, or related advisory services, preferably within international financial institutions or consulting firms. Familiarity with sustainability frameworks such as ISSB, TCFD, and CSRD is desirable, along with strong analytical skills and the ability to work with complex datasets. Excellent written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to draft clear and structured disclosures.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Accounting, Finance, Sustainability, or Economics is required. Advanced degrees or additional certifications in sustainability or ESG-related fields are advantageous and may enhance a candidate's profile.

Experience:
Candidates should have significant relevant experience in sustainability reporting or related fields, ideally gained within international financial institutions or consulting firms. Experience in climate or ESG disclosures, audit, or advisory services is highly valued. The role requires a proven ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple stakeholders effectively, as well as experience in preparing documentation for external assurance processes.

Languages:
Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory for this position. Additional language skills may be beneficial but are not explicitly required.
