Job Overview:
The Head of Department for Grant and Partnership will work under the supervision of the Deputy Country Director of Programs. This role involves leading the development and implementation of grants management processes throughout the project cycle, ensuring that all activities are conducted with quality, efficiency, and compliance. The position requires coordination of high-quality proposal development in collaboration with program and operations teams, as well as supporting the overall funding strategy. The individual will be responsible for managing all internal and external reporting processes, overseeing the grants team, and building the capacity of both their own team and relevant staff involved in grant management. Additionally, the role includes engaging with donors to maintain strong, long-term relationships and providing strategic oversight of partnership and localization activities. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of grants management processes across the entire project cycle, ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance with donor requirements.
  • Coordinate high-quality proposal development with program and operations teams, supporting the funding strategy.
  • Manage all internal and external reporting processes, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Oversee the grants team, providing capacity building and support to enhance their skills and effectiveness.

Required Qualifications:
  • University degree in a related field such as fundraising, public relations, communications, development, humanitarian aid, or international relations.
  • Significant experience working with International Non-Governmental Organizations (INGOs).
  • At least 5 years of experience in humanitarian and/or development fundraising from institutional donors in a fundraising or related NGO role.
  • Technical skills in drafting and compiling project proposals, budget monitoring, and grant management.
  • Experience in narrative and financial reporting for a variety of donors, with a strong knowledge of donor guidelines and regulations.
  • Proven ability to establish and formalize partnerships, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Educational Background:
A university degree in a relevant field such as fundraising, public relations, communications, development, humanitarian aid, or international relations is required for this position. This educational background provides the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of grant management and partnership development in the humanitarian sector.

Experience:
Candidates must have significant experience working with International Non-Governmental Organizations (INGOs), with a minimum of 5 years in humanitarian and/or development fundraising from institutional donors.
