The Department of Operational Support (DOS) was established to provide comprehensive operational support and advisory services to various entities within the United Nations Secretariat. This includes support for departments, offices located away from UN headquarters, UN field missions, and regional commissions. The Office of Supply Chain Management (OSCM), which is part of DOS, is dedicated to building efficient and responsive supply chain solutions for global partners and clients. OSCM encompasses several divisions, including the Logistics Division, Procurement Division, and Global Service Centre, among others. Job Overview:

Interns will work as integral members of the OSCM team, engaging in projects that significantly impact the office's operations. The role focuses on communications and design, requiring applicants to have some experience in graphic design and website design. Interns will be responsible for designing core identity products that reflect the corporate vision and values, preparing content for corporate briefings and presentations, and supporting website development. The position offers a unique opportunity to learn about the United Nations and contribute to its mission through creative design and communication strategies. Interns will also collaborate with team members to maintain and update online content and create communication plans for social media platforms, enhancing the visual appeal and user experience of various products.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will undertake a variety of tasks, including: designing core identity products that illustrate the corporate vision, mission, and values; preparing content for corporate briefings, presentations, fact sheets, and snapshots; supporting website development in terms of layout, content, and overall aesthetic; providing design support for both print and online products; collaborating with the team to update and maintain the Services and Sections pages on SharePoint and iSeek; creating a communication plan for social media platforms, including topic selection and posting frequency; applying graphic design skills to enhance visual appeal and ensure consistency with organizational branding; incorporating interactive elements and layouts to improve accessibility and engagement; participating in brainstorming sessions to generate new communication initiatives; and assisting in the creation of templates or style guides for future communications.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this internship, applicants must meet one of the following criteria: be enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); be in the final academic year of a university degree program (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent); or have graduated with a university degree as defined above. The organization welcomes a diverse range of educational and professional backgrounds, particularly those related to graphic design and communication. Familiarity with design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Canva Pro is essential. While no prior work experience is required, applicants should possess skills and knowledge that can benefit the United Nations during their internship.
