Job Overview:
The Deputy Field Coordinator (P-DFC) is responsible for supervising the implementation of programs in alignment with SI's annual country strategy and the evolving humanitarian needs in the area. The P-DFC will support the design and implementation of new projects and oversee the quality of project execution through direct management of Program Managers. Additionally, the P-DFC will assist the Field Coordinator (FC) in representing SI in external meetings as delegated. This role is pivotal in strategic programming, enhancing SI's visibility, and fostering partnerships with various stakeholders, including local and national NGOs. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise the implementation of programs, ensuring alignment with SI's strategic objectives.
• Support the design and implementation of new projects based on humanitarian needs assessments.
• Oversee the quality of project implementation through direct management of Program Managers.
• Assist the Field Coordinator in external representation and partnership development.
• Participate in strategic annual programming exercises for the Dnipro base and the overall Ukraine mission.
• Enhance the quality of programming, including operationalizing protection mainstreaming and inclusion.
• Ensure the implementation of both emergency and longer-term projects in high-risk areas.
• Continue capacity building initiatives for staff and partners.
• Monitor security constraints and ensure safe access to field operations and beneficiaries. 1
• Collaborate with other bases to harmonize tools and methodologies.

Required Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in the humanitarian sector.
• At least 1 year of experience in a similar position.
• Required experience in humanitarian program management.
• An engineering background or education in WASH or a related technical field is considered an asset.
• Strong proposal and strategy writing skills, along with project design and management experience.
• Basic knowledge of at least one of SI's core sectors (WASH, Shelter).
• Experience with Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) processes.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, which provides foundational knowledge necessary for effective program management and implementation in humanitarian contexts.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least 1 year in a similar role. Candidates should have a proven track record in humanitarian program management, demonstrating their ability to navigate complex operational environments and deliver impactful programs.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of French is considered an asset, as is proficiency in Ukrainian or Russian, which would enhance communication with local stakeholders and beneficiaries.

Additional Notes:
This is a short-term contract position with a duration of 6 months, starting from August 15, 2026, with the possibility of extension. The role is based in Dnipro, Ukraine, and involves a salaried position starting from EUR 2,475 gross per month, which includes a base salary and a monthly per diem. SI covers accommodation costs and travel expenses. The organization implements a system of alternating work and time off, providing breaks every three months along with additional rest days.
