Job Overview: The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position involves supporting the programmatic follow-up (monitoring and reporting) under the supervision of the coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">area coordinator. The intern will participate in project design, field intervention monitoring, and technical capitalization of field interventions in slums and squats, collaborating closely with program managers. The role is crucial in improving the living conditions of vulnerable populations in France, particularly those lacking access to basic services such as drinking water and sanitation. The intern will engage in various tasks that contribute to the overall mission of SI, which aims to enhance the quality of life for marginalized communities.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for several key tasks, including:
Participating in evaluation missions (satisfaction surveys) and technical diagnostics related to water, sanitation, and hygiene (EHA), as well as writing reports under the supervision of the area coordinator.
Assisting area coordinators and program managers in the technical design of activities.
Updating various programmatic monitoring and management tools, including tracking installations, project indicators, and water consumption.
Supporting the program team in operational implementations and field outings (installations, maintenance, repairs).
Contributing to the capitalization of methods and techniques used in interventions and experiences gained by SI and other actors for the Mission France activities.
Participating in the writing of project proposals and donor reports under the supervision of the area coordinator.
Archiving administrative and programmatic documents.
Assisting in the creation, improvement, and adaptation of technical tools for programmatic monitoring and evaluation.
Facilitating travel arrangements for team members, including train and hotel bookings. 1
Providing support across various roles as needed. 1
Occasionally participating in the recruitment of volunteers, including identification, selection, briefing, and administrative management of volunteers.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in fieldwork and a willingness to learn about the technical aspects related to SI's activities in the area. They should also express a desire to be trained in project management tools and processes, including diagnostics, procurement, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and capitalization. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential, and a driving license (Category B) is preferred.
Educational Background: The ideal candidate should have a background in project management, environmental health, political science, development studies, water and sanitation, logistics, or administration. This educational foundation will provide the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively contribute to the organization's mission and objectives.
Experience: While prior experience is not explicitly required for this internship position, any relevant experience in humanitarian work, project management, or related fields will be considered an asset. Additional Notes: This internship is based at the headquarters of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL in Clichy (92), accessible via the Mairie de Clichy metro station. The internship duration is six months, starting in early September. The intern will receive a stipend of €4.90 per hour, calculated based on actual hours worked. Transportation costs will be reimbursed at 50% by SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL, and meal vouchers worth €8.90 per day will be provided, with SI covering 60% of the cost.
