Job Overview:
The Team Leader for the Application Maintenance Team will report directly to the Section Head and will be responsible for managing a highly technical team that builds and maintains complex software products essential for the operational effectiveness of the Department of Safeguards. This role requires a senior technical leader who will contribute to the enterprise architecture lifecycle and oversee the software engineering, application security, and software architecture decisions. The Team Leader will also mentor and supervise staff, ensuring that the team develops the necessary skills and knowledge to meet the department's objectives. The position emphasizes the importance of secure software development practices and operational excellence in maintaining enterprise software products.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Team Leader will play a critical role in ensuring the development and delivery of complex software products that support the Department of Safeguards. Key responsibilities include leading a team of software developers, ensuring collaborative and timely delivery of solutions using agile practices, and ensuring adherence to application security and usability standards. The Team Leader will also drive the Divisional Enterprise Architecture Group, coach and mentor team members, and lead initiatives for continuous improvement in secure software development and systems engineering processes. Additionally, the Team Leader will be responsible for assessing and developing team skills, promoting teamwork, and defining performance criteria.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's Degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, or a related field. Alternatively, a Bachelor's Degree with two additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of an advanced degree. A minimum of ten years of relevant experience in ICT with increasing responsibilities is required, including at least two years of experience managing and coaching staff in a multicultural environment. Candidates should have experience in designing and implementing large service-based architectures and full-stack development, as well as overseeing the technical maintenance of applications and knowledge of application performance management tools.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree (Master's) in computer science, information systems, business administration, or a related field. A Bachelor's degree may be acceptable if accompanied by two additional years of relevant experience. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of software development and ICT services.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of ten years of relevant experience in the field of information and communication technology (ICT), with a focus on increasing responsibilities over time. This includes at least two years of experience in a managerial role, specifically in coaching and mentoring staff within a multicultural environment. Experience in leading the implementation of large service-based architectures and full-stack development is also crucial, as is overseeing the technical maintenance of applications and ensuring operational excellence.

Languages:
Excellent oral and written command of English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages, including Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish, is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's application.

The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package, including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $103,165, along with a variable post adjustment currently amounting to US $53,64
