Job Overview:
The position is part of the Nuclear Fuel Cycle and Materials Section (NFCMS) within the Division of Nuclear Fuel Cycle and Waste Technology (NEFW) at the IAEA. The NFCMS is responsible for assisting Member States in developing safe, environmentally friendly, and economically viable nuclear fuel cycle options. The role involves maintaining a roster of qualified candidates for short-term assignments, thereby facilitating the transfer of knowledge and technology in the nuclear fuel cycle domain. Candidates are expected to contribute to the development of training materials, technical documents, and eLearning resources, as well as engage in information exchange to enhance Member States' capabilities in nuclear fuel management and waste technology.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities for this position include:

• Performing technical editing of multi-author documents to ensure clarity, coherence, and adherence to IAEA standards.
• Developing training courses based on existing guidance and reference materials, tailored to the needs of Member States.
• Creating storyboards for eLearning modules that correlate with published documents and facilitate knowledge transfer.
• Writing and developing a sequence of web articles that summarize and disseminate information from existing publications.
• Providing specialized advice in various areas of nuclear engineering, including geology, nuclear fuel performance, and waste management.
• Collaborating with international experts and stakeholders to promote best practices in the nuclear fuel cycle.
• Engaging in continuous professional development to stay updated on advancements in nuclear technology and policy.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree or an advanced university degree in relevant fields such as Geology, Chemistry, Nuclear Engineering, or related disciplines. A Doctorate degree is considered an asset. Additionally, candidates should have at least three years of relevant experience in document writing, editing, and training within the nuclear fuel cycle domain. Experience at the national, regional, or international level is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams are essential.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree or an advanced degree in fields such as Geology, Chemistry, Mineral Resources, Economic Geology, Mining, Material Science, Nuclear Fuel, or Nuclear Engineering. A Doctorate degree is advantageous and may enhance a candidate's profile.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of three years of relevant experience in areas such as editing, document writing, and knowledge transfer related to the nuclear fuel cycle. Experience in the nuclear industry or with international organizations is preferred, as it demonstrates familiarity with the complexities of nuclear technology and policy.

Languages:
Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official language of the IAEA, such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish, is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's competitiveness in the selection process.

Registration in the pipeline is valid for two years, after which candidates must re-register to remain active.
