Job Overview:
The Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting UNFPA's SRH portfolio in El Salvador. This position involves providing programmatic, administrative, and technical support to ensure effective implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programs aimed at strengthening national systems in reproductive health, sexual rights, and maternal health. The analyst will work closely with various teams within UNFPA, including Gender, Population and Data, and Humanitarian teams, to ensure that project delivery aligns with human rights and gender equality standards. The role also includes contributing to national priority areas such as preventing adolescent pregnancy, promoting comprehensive sexuality education, and enhancing maternal health services. The analyst will be instrumental in driving UNFPA's interventions and ensuring that all activities are inclusive and rights-based, in line with international frameworks and the organization's strategic plan.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The SRH Analyst will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:

• Programmatic Support and Policy Assistance: Drafting technical inputs and policy briefs, reviewing national strategies on maternal health and family planning, and collecting data for investment cases related to SRH and gender-based violence prevention.
• Technical Assistance and Capacity Building: Providing logistical support to national counterparts, organizing capacity-building activities, and monitoring the distribution of SRH commodities.
• Knowledge Management and Evidence Generation: Maintaining data on SRH indicators, conducting demographic analysis, and drafting knowledge products on best practices.
• Communication, Partnership, and Coordination: Participating in technical working groups, preparing documentation for resource mobilization, and ensuring community participation in SRH policies.
• Humanitarian Preparedness and Response: Supporting the integration of the Minimum Initial Service Package into emergency plans and monitoring SRH humanitarian assistance.
• Project Monitoring and Financial Administration: Conducting field monitoring visits, tracking project expenditures, and reviewing financial reports from partners. The analyst may also be required to perform additional duties as assigned by UNFPA leadership.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master's degree) in Public Health, Medicine, Nursing, Health Systems Management, International Development, or a related field. They should have professional experience in program management, public health, or sexual and reproductive health at the national level. Familiarity with the national health system in El Salvador and experience working with vulnerable populations are essential. Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, is required, and prior experience within the UN system or an international NGO is considered an asset.

Educational Background:
The position requires an advanced university degree (Master's degree) in relevant fields such as Public Health, Medicine, Nursing, Health Systems Management, or International Development. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of sexual and reproductive health and the ability to engage effectively with national health systems and policies.

Experience:
Candidates should have a professional background with experience at the national level in program management, public health, or sexual and reproductive health. They should be familiar with project implementation, data collection, and monitoring and evaluation frameworks. Experience working with vulnerable populations and understanding human rights-based approaches is also necessary.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, along with working proficiency in English (both written and spoken). Knowledge of other official UN languages, particularly French and Portuguese, is desirable and can enhance the candidate's profile.
