Job Overview: The National Consultant for Partnership Planning and Coordination will play a crucial role in supporting the UN Women Egypt Country Office (ECO) in its strategic partnership efforts. This position involves managing and facilitating resource mobilization strategies, building and maintaining effective relationships with donors, and providing technical guidance in strategic planning. The consultant will ensure that the Country Office's work aligns with corporate policies and the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework. The role requires a strong focus on results management and effective communication to convey impact stories related to women's empowerment and gender equality. The consultant will also support the Country Representative in advancing UN system-wide accountability tools and inter-agency coordination on gender equality, contributing to joint planning processes and monitoring efforts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support ECO Strategic Partnership Efforts: Manage UN Women’s strategic partnerships, implement resource mobilization strategies, and maintain relationships with donors.
Provide technical guidance in strategic planning for the Country Office, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and timely submission of strategic documents.
Coordinate the development and finalization of annual/biannual workplans, ensuring alignment with the Strategic Note and UN Women Strategic Plan.
Support corporate monitoring and reporting requirements, including annual reports, and alert the Country Representative on critical issues.
Provide technical support for advancing gender equality accountability tools and participate in inter-agency planning processes.
Contribute to the UN Gender Theme Group and Women and Girls’ Results Group, ensuring effective implementation of standards and procedures.
Prepare analytical reports on UN Women’s program experiences and engage in regional and global dialogues on gender equality.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a Master’s degree or equivalent in fields such as economics, business management, social sciences, public administration, international relations, communications, or women's studies. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with two additional years of relevant experience may be accepted. Candidates must demonstrate a strong understanding of gender equality and women's empowerment issues, particularly within the context of the UN System or international organizations. Experience in research, donor relations, and resource mobilization is essential, along with a proven track record of working in similar roles.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent in relevant fields. A first-level university degree may be accepted if accompanied by additional qualifying experience. The educational background should reflect a strong foundation in areas pertinent to gender equality, social sciences, or international development.
Experience: At least 2 years of progressively responsible work experience in research, donor relations, resource mobilization, or business development is required. Experience working with the UN System or other international organizations is essential, along with a demonstrated commitment to gender equality and women's empowerment. Familiarity with the Arab States region and/or Egypt is desirable, indicating an understanding of local contexts and challenges.
Languages: Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of additional UN official languages, particularly French, is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage in diverse international contexts.
