Duties and Responsibilities:

Coordinate with program sections and field teams to gather relevant information and insights for communication outputs.

Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (master’s or equivalent) in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, External Relations, or a related field. They should have a minimum of five years of progressively responsible professional work experience in communication, with demonstrated expertise in multimedia production to international standards. Skills in strategic communications, multimedia content production, humanitarian communication, and advocacy for gender equality and human rights are essential. Candidates should also have a strong understanding of communication management and the ability to deliver under pressure in complex emergency settings.
Educational Background: An advanced university degree (master’s or equivalent) in relevant fields such as Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or External Relations is required for this position. This educational background is critical for understanding the nuances of effective communication in humanitarian contexts and for producing high-quality content that meets UNICEF's standards.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of five years of progressively responsible and relevant professional work experience in communication, particularly in print, broadcast, and new media. Candidates should have proven experience in emergency communication, preferably in public health crises, and relevant experience in development and fragile settings. Experience in Africa, especially in francophone contexts, is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in English and French is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is considered an asset.
