Duties and Responsibilities: The Finance and Budget Assistant will have a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: generating budgetary reports and financial data, amending and editing statistical tables, ensuring compliance with established guidelines, producing layouts for budget annexes, summarizing departmental proposals, drafting communications to various offices, assisting in payment processing, maintaining the Division database, responding to queries from staff and third parties, maintaining workload statistics, providing administrative support, and keeping files up-to-date. The assistant will also be responsible for performing other related duties as assigned by the Chief of the Section, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of three years of experience in accounting, finance, budget, or administrative services is required. For candidates with a first-level university degree or higher, the minimum experience requirement is reduced to one year. Experience in processing payroll and vendor/travel claims in an international organization is essential. Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, such as Umoja or SAP, is required, and experience with Customer Relationship Management tools is desirable. Knowledge of UN Staff Rules and Financial Regulations is also advantageous.
Educational Background: The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent as a minimum educational qualification. Candidates with a first-level university degree or higher will have a reduced experience requirement, indicating that higher education is valued and may enhance a candidate's eligibility for the role.
