Job Overview:
The Programme Analyst, Quality Assurance plays a crucial role in ensuring that UNFPA's programs at the country, regional, and global levels align with the strategic priorities of the organization and adhere to established quality standards. This position involves supporting results planning, monitoring, and reporting, as well as contributing to the development of guidelines and tools for program development, review, and approval processes. The incumbent will prepare substantive analyses for global quality assurance exercises and facilitate communication among relevant stakeholders. The role requires a proactive approach to developing and implementing organizational policies and procedures that support effective program management and quality assurance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Programme Analyst, Quality Assurance is responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
  • Developing, revising, and implementing organizational policies, procedures, guidelines, and tools to support results planning, monitoring, and reporting, ensuring alignment with UNFPA strategic priorities.
  • Providing analysis and substantive inputs for the development of guidelines and standards related to quality programming.
  • Supporting the facilitation and coordination of corporate Strategic Dialogues and theory of change processes for design" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">program design.
  • Planning and delivering quality assurance exercises, coordinating relevant analytical and correspondence areas of work.
  • Producing evidence-based analyses, briefs, and presentations on quality program dimensions and trends to inform programming reports and advisory notes.
  • Coordinating and producing key communications products on quality programming, including maintaining the corporate country program document database.
  • Collaborating with other UNFPA offices on key programming issues to ensure cohesive and effective program implementation.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (master's or higher) in fields such as international relations, social sciences, international development, information management, data science, computer science, artificial intelligence, demography, sociology, political science, development studies, public health, public policy, gender, law, human rights, or related disciplines. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to the principles of the United Nations and possess excellent communication and writing skills, particularly in preparing briefings, analytical reports, and presentations.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree (master's or higher) in relevant fields such as international relations, social sciences, international development, information management, data science, computer science, artificial intelligence, demography, sociology, political science, development studies, public health, public policy, gender, law, human rights, or related disciplines. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of international development and the specific challenges faced by UNFPA in its mission.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least two years of relevant experience, preferably in international development, public health, or related fields. Experience at the regional or country level is considered an asset. The role requires expertise in data management, statistical analysis, and quality assurance, as well as demonstrable skills in qualitative and quantitative data analysis. Familiarity with AI and digital solutions, monitoring and evaluation, and strong organizational skills are highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required for this position. Additionally, working knowledge of another official United Nations language is considered an added advantage, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate effectively in a diverse international environment.
