Job Overview:

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to the processing of water samples for isotope tracer analysis. Key responsibilities include assisting with the registration and preparation of water samples for stable isotope analysis, analyzing nitrate concentrations in water samples using ion chromatography, preparing and degassing samples for tritium analysis by helium-3 ingrowth, and developing methodologies for Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) for water resource management applications. Additionally, interns will assist with the analysis of stable oxygen and hydrogen isotopes in water samples and collaborate with Section and Laboratory staff on data analysis, scientific presentations, and manuscript preparation. This hands-on experience will provide valuable insights into the practical applications of nuclear techniques in environmental protection and resource management.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in environmental sciences, hydrogeology, hydrology, chemistry, or a related field. A solid understanding of analytical equipment used in laboratory settings is essential, along with knowledge of hydrochemistry. Proficiency in standard office software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. Interns should demonstrate good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team, respecting and adapting to a multi-cultural environment. Additionally, candidates must be at least 20 years old and have completed a minimum of three years of full-time university studies towards their first degree.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this internship includes having completed at least three years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards a bachelor's degree, master's degree, or doctorate.
