Job Overview:
The Digital Knowledge Manager position is integral to the WHO's Meeting and Travel Services (MTS) initiative, which aims to enhance the efficiency of meeting coordination, travel arrangements, and expense management. The incumbent will be responsible for developing and maintaining knowledge resources and training materials for the newly deployed WHO Meeting and Travel systems. This role requires a strong focus on knowledge management, technical writing, and training development to ensure that users have access to up-to-date and relevant information. The Digital Knowledge Manager will work closely with the MTS Business Support Team to ensure the effective day-to-day functioning of the system and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. The position involves creating user documentation, managing knowledge platforms, designing training materials, and conducting training sessions for various user roles. The ultimate goal is to promote a culture of learning and support the adoption of new systems and updates within the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop, organize, and maintain user documentation for Meeting and Travel systems, including FAQs, manuals, and guides, ensuring that content is accessible and aligned with business needs.
  • Manage and improve knowledge platforms such as SharePoint and Intranet, standardizing documentation formats and promoting best practices for knowledge sharing.
  • Design and produce training materials, including videos, presentations, and e-learning modules related to Meeting and Travel systems and processes.
  • Conduct onboarding sessions, workshops, and training for all user roles, both in-person and virtually.
  • Review training and knowledge resources regularly, identify gaps, and collect user feedback to enhance the effectiveness and relevance of materials.
  • Promote a culture of learning within the organization, monitor training completion rates, and support the adoption of new systems and updates.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that training and knowledge management efforts align with organizational goals and user needs.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in knowledge management, technical writing, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of training development and delivery methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Proficiency in using knowledge management systems and tools, such as SharePoint and Intranet platforms.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic work environment.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as communications, education, public health, or a related discipline is required. A master's degree in a relevant field is preferred and may be an advantage in the selection process. Additional certifications in knowledge management or instructional design would be beneficial.

Experience:
A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in knowledge management, technical writing, or training development is required. Experience working in an international organization or within the UN system is highly desirable. Familiarity with public health issues and the operational context of WHO would be an asset.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Proficiency in French or Arabic is considered an asset and would be advantageous for this position, given the organization's operational context in Tunisia and the broader region.

Additional Notes:
This position is a national UN Volunteer assignment based in Tunisia. The contract duration is for a specified period, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability. The volunteer will be responsible for organizing their own accommodation and basic needs. The Volunteer Living Allowance is provided monthly to cover housing, utilities, and daily living expenses. Comprehensive health, life, and disability insurance is included, along with allowances for relocation and exit upon successful completion of the assignment.
