Job Overview:
The Storekeeper / Assistant Storekeeper position is crucial for ensuring the effective management of warehouse operations within WFP. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Effectively receive and dispatch commodities, ensuring accuracy in physical counts and compliance with established quality standards.
  • Prepare, verify, and sign off on warehouse and transport documents, maintaining accurate transaction records for immediate reporting on commodity movements.
  • Conduct daily warehouse reconciliations and inventory checks to support internal control systems.
  • Perform inspections and prepare reports on the quality and quantity of commodities, investigating discrepancies and preparing loss reports.
  • Implement measures to safeguard food and non-food commodities, ensuring quality control in line with WFP procedures.
  • Monitor warehouse conditions and take actions to optimize space planning and organization of commodity storage.
  • Provide guidance and on-the-job training to warehouse staff to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the activity manager, in line with the position's level and expertise.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed secondary school education, with a post-secondary certificate or Bachelor's degree in a related functional area being desirable. Additionally, candidates should possess a minimum of 4 years of experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or a related field. Experience in managing warehouses with food and non-food items, as well as familiarity with logistics databases for report extraction, is essential. Candidates should also have experience in managing inventories and processing invoices.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position includes the completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate or a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred, indicating a foundational understanding of logistics and warehouse management principles.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have at least 4 years of relevant experience in logistics and warehouse operations.
