Job Overview: The internship is situated within the Emergency Department, specifically in the 'Response' team, which includes the Emergency Manager and two Emergency Operations Officers. The primary mission of the intern will be to support emergency programs, particularly for Sudan, and occasionally for Palestine. The intern will also contribute to funding proposals. The role involves assisting in the implementation of field projects and monitoring donor requirements, participating in writing and revising project proposals and donor reports, translating and formatting these documents, and developing support documents for programs. Additionally, the intern will help prepare and implement training weeks and simulation exercises for the Emergency Medical Team, organize meetings and workshops, and update communication tools and internal documents.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the implementation of field projects and monitor donor requirements, including:
- Participation in writing and revising project proposals and donor reports.
- Translation and formatting of project proposals and donor reports.
- Contribution to the development of support documents for programs (tools, templates, etc.).
- Assisting in organizing analysis exercises, capitalization, and feedback sessions (framing, note-taking, and reporting).
General support to the 'Response' team of the Emergency Department, including:
- Assisting in the preparation and implementation of the training week and simulation exercise (SIMEX) for the Emergency Medical Team (EMT) Specialized Care Team (SCT) scheduled for October 2026 (logistical preparation, coordination, production of materials, action tracking, and capitalization).
- Organizing meetings and workshops (liaising with participants, arranging space and materials, note-taking, and reporting).
- Developing and updating internal and external communication tools and supports.
- Updating and consolidating summary and tracking documents (action plan, monitoring plan, etc.).
Support for other funding proposals:
- Participation in updating the guidance on 'Rapid Response Modalities in Emergencies.'
- Participation in launching data collection for the annual analysis of HI's emergency responses, 'Emergency Response Analysis Report.'
- Updating and managing internal information systems.
- Participation in working sessions, formalizing and producing deliverables.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should have a background in international cooperation, political science, humanitarian action, or project management. A first experience in NGOs, corporate foundations, international organizations, or public entities, either in France or abroad, will be valued. Strong writing skills in both French and English are essential, along with good organizational skills and autonomy in work. Candidates should be curious, eager to learn, and enjoy teamwork. Educational Background: The position requires candidates to have a relevant educational background in fields such as international cooperation, political science, humanitarian action, or project management. A mandatory internship agreement must be provided by a French educational or training institution.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have some prior experience, preferably in NGOs, corporate foundations, international organizations, or public entities, either in France or internationally. This experience will enhance the candidate's ability to contribute effectively to the role.
Languages: Fluency in both French and English is mandatory for this position. Additional languages may be considered an asset but are not required.
