Job Overview:
The position involves supporting the Food Security and Livelihoods sector to develop quality work in sustainable agriculture, addressing challenges related to climate change, disaster risk management, and food security. The role requires the development of strategic positioning and technical guidelines in sustainable agriculture, providing support and advice to country offices, including project proposal writing, field visits, and implementation advice. Additionally, the position entails enhancing skills within Action contre la Faim and among partners through remote and in-person training, webinars, and workshops. The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing and monitoring food security and livelihoods programs in Zimbabwe, ensuring that the organization's objectives are met effectively and sustainably.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop strategic positioning and technical guidelines in sustainable agriculture.
  • Provide support and advice to country offices, including writing project proposals and conducting field visits.
  • Offer guidance during the implementation of projects to ensure quality and effectiveness.
  • Conduct training sessions, both remotely and in-person, to enhance the skills of ACF staff and partners.
  • Organize webinars and workshops to disseminate knowledge and best practices in sustainable agriculture.
  • Develop and monitor food security and livelihoods programs specifically in Zimbabwe, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to promote sustainable agricultural practices and food security initiatives.
  • Engage in advocacy efforts to raise awareness about the importance of sustainable agriculture in the context of climate change and disaster risk management.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must hold a Master's degree in tropical agronomy or be a qualified agronomist. A minimum of six years of professional experience in the humanitarian or international development sector is required, preferably in 'Southern countries'. The candidate should possess confirmed skills in agroecology and demonstrate strong leadership abilities. Creativity, solution-oriented thinking, and pedagogical skills are essential for this role. The candidate must also be proficient in both written and spoken English, enabling effective communication and collaboration within the organization and with external partners.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have a Master's degree in tropical agronomy or a related field, which provides the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge required for the role. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of sustainable agriculture and its application in humanitarian contexts.

Experience:
A minimum of six years of relevant professional experience is required, particularly in the humanitarian or international development sectors. Experience working in 'Southern countries' is preferred, as it provides valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities faced in these regions. The candidate should have a proven track record of working on projects related to food security, livelihoods, and sustainable agriculture.

Languages:
Proficiency in English, both written and oral, is mandatory for this position. This is essential for effective communication with international teams and stakeholders. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with diverse populations and partners.

Additional Notes:
The position is classified as a full-time, integrated framework contract for a duration of 11 months. The salary ranges from €46,000 to €52,000 gross annually, depending on experience. Employees are entitled to 25 days of paid leave per year and 21 days of RTT (reduction of working time). Health coverage and other benefits include 80% coverage by ACF for health and maternity/paternity leave, transportation allowances covering 50% of the commuting costs, and meal vouchers with 60% coverage by the organization. Remote work is permitted from metropolitan territory, with mandatory in-person attendance required for two days per month and additional collective presence for meetings and events.
