Job Overview:
The International UNV Specialist - Partnership Analyst position is situated within the UNOPS Papua New Guinea Country Office in Port Moresby. The role involves reporting directly to the Country Manager and collaborating closely with Project Managers to identify emerging business opportunities in Papua New Guinea. The UNV will be responsible for conducting research on partner strategies, supporting the development of proposals and presentations, and facilitating high-level discussions with funding partners and government counterparts. The position also emphasizes the importance of communication and outreach to enhance UNOPS' visibility and recognition in the region, thereby supporting business development efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Partnerships/Business Development: Conduct research on partner strategies and market trends, update profiles based on changing priorities, support the drafting of concept notes and proposals, prepare materials for meetings, and track business opportunities for UNOPS in PNG.
  • Communications, Visibility and Outreach: Identify communication opportunities to enhance UNOPS' recognition in PNG, organize promotional events, draft external communications, and support the overall communications strategy.
  • Additional tasks include strengthening knowledge of volunteerism, participating in UNV activities, contributing to publications, and assisting with the UNV Buddy Programme for new volunteers.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must demonstrate accountability, adaptability, client orientation, commitment to continuous learning, effective communication, creativity, and integrity. They should possess strong judgment and decision-making skills, and be motivated to empower others while adhering to ethical values.

Educational Background:
A relevant educational background is required, typically at least a bachelor's degree in fields related to international development, business administration, or a similar area. Advanced degrees may be preferred depending on the specific requirements of the role.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in partnership development, business analysis, or a related field. Experience working in international development or with UN agencies is highly desirable, as is familiarity with the socio-economic context of Papua New Guinea.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the working language of UNOPS. Knowledge of local languages or dialects would be considered an asset, enhancing communication with local stakeholders.

The position is a full-time role based in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. The living conditions in PNG require cultural awareness and adaptability due to the unique socio-economic challenges present in the country.
