Job Overview: The Asistente Comercial position is designed to provide operational support to commercial strengthening actions developed under the Alternative Development program. This role is crucial in contributing to the consolidation of business capacities, facilitating connections with strategic actors, and promoting market opportunities for beneficiary organizations. The position requires a proactive approach to support the implementation of commercial strategies and initiatives that align with the goals of the UNODC. The successful candidate will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure that the program's objectives are met and that beneficiaries receive the necessary support to enhance their commercial activities.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Asistente Comercial will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: assisting in the development and implementation of commercial strategies; providing support in the organization of training sessions and workshops for beneficiaries; conducting market research to identify opportunities for beneficiaries; maintaining communication with stakeholders and partners; preparing reports and documentation related to commercial activities; assisting in the monitoring and evaluation of program activities; and ensuring compliance with UNODC policies and procedures. The role may also involve administrative tasks such as managing schedules, coordinating meetings, and maintaining records.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders. A proactive attitude and problem-solving skills are highly valued in this role.
Educational Background: A minimum of a high school diploma is required, with a preference for candidates holding a degree in business administration, economics, or a related field. Additional certifications in project management or commercial development would be advantageous.
Experience: Candidates should have at least 1-2 years of relevant experience in commercial support, project management, or a related field. Experience working with international organizations or in a multicultural environment is a plus. Familiarity with the local market and business landscape in Colombia will be beneficial.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as the position requires communication with local stakeholders and beneficiaries. Proficiency in English is considered an asset, as it may be necessary for reporting and communication with international partners.
Additional Notes: This position is classified as entry-level and is offered on a regular ICA - LICA contract basis. The contract duration is for four months, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability, organizational needs, project duration, and satisfactory performance. The role is based in Bogota, Colombia, and may require occasional travel within the country to meet with beneficiaries and stakeholders.
