Job Overview: The IPSAS Specialist position is crucial for enhancing the financial management capabilities within the organization. This role involves ensuring compliance with the International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS), which are essential for the accurate reporting and management of financial resources. The specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing financial policies and procedures that align with IPSAS requirements. Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with IPSAS standards in all financial reporting and management activities.
Develop and implement financial policies and procedures that align with IPSAS requirements.
Provide technical guidance and support to staff on IPSAS-related matters.
Conduct training sessions for staff to enhance their understanding of IPSAS standards.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Monitor and evaluate the implementation of IPSAS standards across the organization.

Required Qualifications:
Strong understanding of IPSAS and international financial reporting standards.
Proven experience in financial management and reporting within a public sector or international organization.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a multicultural environment.
Proficiency in financial software and tools used for reporting and analysis.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field is required. A master's degree or professional certification in accounting (such as CPA or ACCA) is highly desirable and may be considered an asset for this position.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in financial management, accounting, or auditing is required. Experience working with IPSAS or similar international financial reporting standards is essential. Previous experience in a UN or international organization is an advantage.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of additional UN languages, such as French or Spanish, is considered an asset and may enhance the candidate's profile.
