Job Overview: The Solutions Architect will play a pivotal role in leading a large development team and overseeing the software development process within the UN's digital transformation initiatives. The incumbent will be responsible for organizing agile development, managing release strategies, and conducting system design activities. This position requires a strategic mindset to align software development with the needs of Member States and the overarching goals of the organization. The architect will define and document the architecture necessary for implementing the Digital Transformation and Secretary-General’s Digital Strategy, ensuring that the software solutions meet both current and future requirements. The role also involves engaging with various teams and divisions to uphold enterprise architecture standards and facilitate communication between clients and technical teams, ensuring successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities: The incumbent will be responsible for leading a large development team, overseeing the development process, and organizing agile development and release management. Experience: A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible work experience in IT Software Architecture, software development, and enterprise systems design is required. Candidates should have experience in enterprise software development within a mature engineering environment, demonstrating modern software engineering practices such as agile delivery and automated testing. Experience with .Net technologies, financial technology domains, and Anti Money-Laundering/Counter-Financing of Terrorism frameworks is desirable. Familiarity with the United Nations System or similar international organizations is also preferred.
Languages: English is required for this position, as it is one of the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. French is also a working language, but proficiency in English is mandatory for this role.
