Job Overview:
The Safeguards Information Analyst (Open Source) position is integral to the IAEA's mission of nuclear verification. The role involves collecting, processing, and analyzing a wide range of open-source information relevant to nuclear safeguards. This includes data from scientific and technical sources, nuclear trade, and procurement data. The analyst will work closely with the Senior Safeguards Analyst and other team members to support the State evaluation process and prepare for field activities. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying issues and areas of interest that are pertinent to safeguards implementation, as well as leading analytical project teams to develop tools and methodologies for information analysis.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Safeguards Information Analyst will participate in State Evaluation Groups, contributing to the evaluation process by assessing the quality and reliability of safeguards-relevant information. Responsibilities include conducting analyses of open-source information, assisting in the evaluation of State declarations, and performing further research on identified issues. The analyst will also ensure effective communication of analytical results to Operations Divisions and lead project teams in accordance with the Divisional annual work plan. This role demands a high level of analytical thinking, client orientation, and the ability to make sound judgments based on the Agency's regulations and standards.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as science (e.g., physics, chemistry), technology (e.g., nuclear, mechanical engineering), or non-proliferation studies. A minimum of five years of experience in nuclear non-proliferation or safeguards information collection and analysis is required. Familiarity with information collection techniques, advanced text retrieval methods, and experience with analytical software are essential. Candidates should demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills in English, with knowledge of other IAEA official languages being an asset.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position is a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university in a relevant discipline. Experience:
