Job Overview: The STP-Digital Payments Solutions Expert position is a consultancy role aimed at enhancing digital payment solutions within the framework of UNDP's projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The consultant will be responsible for providing expert advice and strategic guidance on the implementation of digital payment systems that are efficient, secure, and accessible. The role requires a deep understanding of the digital payments landscape, including the latest technologies and trends, as well as the regulatory environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The consultant will work closely with various stakeholders, including government agencies, financial institutions, and private sector partners, to develop and implement solutions that meet the needs of users and promote financial inclusion. The assignment is expected to last for 50 days over a period of four months, from July 2026 to October 2026, and will involve travel to key cities such as Sarajevo, Mostar, and Banja Luka.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the current digital payment systems in Bosnia and Herzegovina, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement.
Develop a strategic plan for the implementation of enhanced digital payment solutions, including timelines, milestones, and key performance indicators.
Collaborate with government agencies and financial institutions to design and implement user-friendly digital payment platforms.
Provide technical assistance and training to stakeholders involved in the deployment of digital payment solutions.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented solutions, making recommendations for adjustments as necessary.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations on progress and outcomes for UNDP and other stakeholders.
Stay updated on global trends in digital payments and incorporate best practices into local implementations.
Required Qualifications:
Proven expertise in digital payment systems, including knowledge of relevant technologies and regulatory frameworks.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex situations and develop effective solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Familiarity with the socio-economic context of Bosnia and Herzegovina is an advantage.
Educational Background: A Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in digital payments or financial technology would be considered an asset.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the field of digital payments or financial technology is required. Experience working with international organizations or in a consultancy capacity is highly desirable. Proven track record of successfully implementing digital payment solutions in a similar context will be an advantage.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in Bosnian, Croatian, or Serbian is highly desirable, as it will facilitate communication with local stakeholders and enhance the effectiveness of the consultancy.
Additional Notes: The contract duration for this consultancy is 50 days over a period of four months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and project needs. This is a full-time consultancy role, and the consultant will be expected to travel within Bosnia and Herzegovina to engage with various stakeholders. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and in line with UNDP's policies for individual contractors.
