Job Overview:
The CBT Resource Management Officer position is crucial for managing cash-based transfers (CBTs) effectively, especially in the context of Sudan's escalating food insecurity due to prolonged conflict. The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the Head of CBT, focusing on ensuring that CBT resources and grants are well-managed, utilized optimally, and accounted for. This role involves monitoring fund utilization, preparing reports, and supporting the capacity building of WFP staff. The officer will also represent the CBT unit in various committees and contribute to donor reporting, ensuring that all activities align with WFP's mission to provide humanitarian assistance to those in need. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitor the utilization of CBT funds, including advance financing, loan arrangements, and alerting supervisors to deadlines for unassigned funds.
  • Prepare periodic CBT grants management reports to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Act as the WINGS focal point in the CBT unit, managing processes related to agreements and purchase requests.
  • Support senior colleagues in monitoring resource pipelines to maximize operational effectiveness.
  • Assist in capacity building for WFP staff regarding service entry sheets and operational planning.
  • Represent the CBT unit in the Resource Management Committee, highlighting resource status and needs.
  • Contribute to donor reporting regarding the utilization of grants for CBT activities.
  • Provide operational support to the CBT country office team as needed.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a first university degree or equivalent education. A minimum of three years of postgraduate professional experience in relevant fields is required. Candidates should demonstrate experience in program implementation, particularly in cash-based transfers in conflict or post-conflict settings. Knowledge of analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">financial analysis and operational budgets is essential, along with experience in supporting program implementation and coordination efforts. Familiarity with WFP's processes and tools is highly desirable, as is the ability to produce high-quality written outputs in English and Arabic.

Completion of university-level education is essential for this role, ensuring that candidates have a solid foundation in relevant concepts and practices.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least three years of progressively responsible experience in relevant fields, with a focus on program implementation and cash-based transfers. Experience in conflict or post-conflict settings is particularly valuable, as is familiarity with WFP's operational processes and tools. The role requires analytical skills and the ability to contribute to budget development and program coordination efforts.

Languages:
Fluency in both English and Arabic is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders and partners.
