Job Overview: The Operational Information Management & Reporting Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring that WFP Rwanda delivers high-quality, timely, and strategic reporting that demonstrates results and impact. This position is vital for operational decision-making, donor reporting, and strategic positioning. The officer will be responsible for consolidating data from various corporate systems and partner inputs, ensuring data consistency across different outputs, and analyzing operational data to identify trends and gaps. The role requires strong coordination with various units within WFP, including program, supply chain, and technical units, to provide an integrated approach to data management and reporting. The officer will also develop dashboards and information products to communicate operational performance effectively and will lead the preparation of corporate and donor reports, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Data Management & Operational Analysis: Consolidate data from key corporate systems and partner inputs, ensuring consistency across program, supply chain, and partnerships outputs. Analyze operational data to identify trends, risks, and gaps, maintaining a common operating picture of WFP Rwanda operations.
Dashboards & Information Products: Develop and maintain country-level dashboards, produce regular operational updates, briefs, and visual products for senior management and external stakeholders.
Corporate & Donor Reporting: Lead preparation and coordination of annual country reports, monthly country briefs, and donor progress reports, ensuring compliance with corporate and donor reporting requirements.
Narrative Development & Strategic Positioning: Translate operational data into compelling narratives tailored to donors and partners, ensuring consistency of messaging across reports and proposals.
Information Coordination & Quality Assurance: Coordinate inputs across various units, ensuring alignment and consistency between data, analysis, and narrative. Manage internal review processes for reporting products.
Knowledge Management & Learning: Maintain a repository of reports and key information products, document best practices, and support the development of standardized templates and reporting guidance.
Required Qualifications:
Advanced University degree in Political Science, International Development, Development Economics, International Relations, Law, Marketing, Communications, or other relevant fields. Alternatively, a First University degree with additional years of relevant work experience.
Demonstrated ability to translate data and technical content into clear communication for diverse audiences.
Experience working with multiple stakeholders and contributing to reporting or analytical outputs.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in relevant fields such as Political Science, International Development, Development Economics, International Relations, Law, Marketing, or Communications. A first university degree may be acceptable if accompanied by additional relevant work experience.
Experience: At least one year of relevant professional experience is required, particularly in roles related to data analytics, partnerships, program management, or business development. Experience in UN or humanitarian settings is an asset but not mandatory. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively across teams and adapt to evolving priorities.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory (level C). Knowledge of French or another UN/WFP working language is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's profile.
Additional Notes: The position is a fixed-term contract for 12 months, renewable based on performance and organizational needs. The role is based in Kigali, Rwanda, and is full-time.
