Job Overview:
The Inspector - Team Leader position within the NATO Office of Security (NOS) is pivotal for overseeing the security operations at NATO Headquarters. The incumbent will lead the Headquarters Security Force (HQSF), ensuring that all security protocols are adhered to and that the safety of personnel and assets is maintained. This role requires a proactive approach to incident management, with the ability to respond to security threats and emergencies effectively. The Inspector will also be responsible for training and mentoring team members, fostering a professional environment that emphasizes continuous improvement and operational efficiency. The position demands flexibility, as it involves working outside of standard hours, including weekends and holidays, and may require international deployments for security missions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary duties of the Inspector - Team Leader include leading and supervising the on-duty HQ Security Team, ensuring the security and safety of NATO HQ. This involves responding to and resolving incidents, reporting any security-related occurrences, and coordinating with various stakeholders, including police and emergency services. The Inspector will also manage personnel deployment for daily operations and special events, train and mentor team members, and maintain professional relationships with key NATO HQ personnel. Additionally, the role requires the implementation of security protocols and procedures, ensuring that all team members understand and execute their responsibilities effectively. The Inspector will perform any other related duties as assigned, contributing to the overall security strategy of NATO.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an educational qualification equivalent to higher secondary level and have a minimum of 6 years of experience in a leadership role within a security, police, or military context. Experience in a multicultural environment is essential, along with proficiency in the use of firearms and less-lethal force equipment. Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills are required, as well as the ability to pass regular shooting and physical tests. Knowledge of NATO's official languages is mandatory, with at least one language at an advanced level and the other at an intermediate level. Additional qualifications such as relevant certifications in first aid, CBRN defensive measures, and emergency response procedures are advantageous.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a qualification equivalent to higher secondary education. This foundational education is critical for understanding the complexities of security operations and management within an international organization like NATO.

Experience:
The position requires at least 6 years of relevant experience in a leadership capacity within a security, police, or military organization. This experience should include middle management responsibilities and the ability to operate effectively in a diverse, multicultural environment. Familiarity with security protocols and incident management is essential for success in this role.

Languages:
Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in NATO's official languages, specifically English and French. A minimum of V (Advanced) level in one language and III (Intermediate) level in the other is required. Additional language skills may be considered an asset, enhancing communication within the diverse NATO environment.

Additional Notes:
The successful applicant will receive a definite duration contract of three years, with the possibility of an indefinite duration contract thereafter. The position may require travel and work outside normal office hours.
