Job Overview:
The National Consultant for Health Technology Expert position is part of the A2i Project, which aims to enhance health technology and improve healthcare delivery in Bangladesh. The consultant will be responsible for providing expert advice and technical support in the field of health technology, ensuring that the project meets its objectives effectively. The role requires a deep understanding of health technology systems, policies, and practices, as well as the ability to engage with various stakeholders, including government agencies, healthcare providers, and international organizations. The consultant will work closely with the project team to develop strategies, implement solutions, and monitor progress over a period of 100 days spread across seven months. This position is crucial for advancing health technology initiatives that align with national health priorities and contribute to improved health outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the National Consultant for Health Technology Expert include:
  • Conducting a comprehensive assessment of existing health technology systems and identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Developing and recommending strategies for the effective implementation of health technology solutions in alignment with national health policies.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to design and implement training programs for healthcare professionals on the use of health technology.
  • Providing technical support in the procurement and deployment of health technology tools and systems.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the impact of health technology initiatives on healthcare delivery and patient outcomes.
  • Preparing detailed reports and presentations on findings, recommendations, and progress made during the consultancy period.
  • Engaging in regular communication with UNDP and project stakeholders to ensure alignment and address any emerging challenges.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the National Consultant for Health Technology Expert position include:
  • A Master's degree in Health Technology, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in health technology assessment, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Strong understanding of the healthcare system in Bangladesh and relevant health policies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in Health Technology, Public Health, or a related field. A PhD or equivalent advanced degree is preferred, particularly for those with extensive experience in health technology and its application in healthcare settings.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in health technology, including experience in health systems strengthening, technology assessment, and implementation of health technology solutions. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in the context of UNDP projects, is highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Bengali is an advantage, as it will facilitate communication with local stakeholders and enhance the effectiveness of the consultancy.

Additional Notes:
The contract duration for this consultancy is 100 days over a period of seven months. This position is classified as an individual contractor role, and it is expected to be a full-time engagement. The consultant will be required to submit proposals directly through the UNDP supplier portal, and any inquiries regarding the tender must be submitted in writing via the portal's messaging functionality.
