Job Overview: The Project Assistant position is situated within the Energy Sector Division of the Sectors Department 1 at ADB. This role is crucial for providing operational and administrative support for the implementation of projects and technical assistance. The Project Assistant will be responsible for coordinating project activities, ensuring effective communication among project teams, and assisting in the preparation and processing of essential project documents. This position requires a proactive approach to managing project logistics, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with ADB standards. Duties and Responsibilities: The Project Assistant will undertake a variety of duties including but not limited to: supporting the preparation and processing of loan and technical assistance documents, providing administrative support for project implementation, assisting with consultant recruitment and contract administration, preparing internal memos and meeting minutes, coordinating project-related logistics such as meetings and travel arrangements, maintaining accurate project records and filing systems, helping to prepare the Project Administration Manual, ensuring compliance with ADB standards in document preparation, responding to routine queries, and providing backup assistance to other operations assistants as needed. The role may also involve performing additional responsibilities as assigned in accordance with the workplan.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, social science, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in providing administrative and operational assistance is required. Candidates should have hands-on experience supporting multilateral technical assistance, loan, and grant projects, as well as experience in conducting background research for assignments. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint) is essential, along with the ability to effectively collaborate with ADB stakeholders, including staff, government officials, and development partners.
Educational Background: The educational requirement for this position is a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as business administration, economics, or social science. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of project management and administrative support within the context of ADB's operations.
Experience: The position requires at least 5 years of relevant professional experience. This experience should include providing administrative and operational support in a similar environment, particularly in relation to multilateral projects.
