Job Overview: The director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Senior Director for the Global TB Program will be a pivotal leader in addressing tuberculosis, the world's deadliest infectious disease. This role requires a strategic visionary who can navigate complex funding landscapes and health systems to reduce the burden of TB. The Senior Director will articulate a clear programmatic vision, engage various stakeholders, and lead initiatives that span community-based prevention, diagnostic technology introduction, and market shaping interventions. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in TB and a proven track record of delivering public health impact in low- and middle-income countries, ensuring that the program translates strategic goals into measurable outcomes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Define and communicate a strategic direction for CHAI's global TB portfolio, aligning with organizational priorities and donor expectations.
Monitor shifts in TB financing, epidemiology, and policy to position CHAI proactively.
Develop multi-year programmatic plans and performance management systems.
Manage relationships with major donors and ensure high-quality reporting.
Provide technical guidance on programmatic, policy, and scientific questions.
Drive CHAI's TB learning and research agenda, ensuring findings are actionable.
Represent CHAI at global TB community events and shape policy discussions.
Lead and develop a diverse team, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability. 1
Collaborate with other CHAI programs to identify synergies and integrated approaches.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have 12+ years of progressive experience in a related field, demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility and leadership. A strong working knowledge of the global TB landscape, including epidemiology and diagnostics, is essential. Proven success in leading global or multi-country programs with measurable public health impact is required. Candidates should possess outstanding communication skills, resource mobilization experience, and excellent project and people management abilities. A high bar for quality and analytical rigor in program outputs is necessary, along with a track record of building relationships with senior officials and stakeholders.
Educational Background: A relevant advanced degree in management, public health, science, or related fields is preferred. Candidates with deep expertise in tuberculosis and experience working with national TB programs or major global health organizations will have an advantage.
Experience: Candidates should have extensive experience in public health, particularly in TB, with a demonstrated ability to lead complex programs and achieve significant health outcomes. Experience in resource mobilization and managing donor relationships is crucial, as is the ability to work in fast-paced environments and navigate multi-stakeholder landscapes.
