Job Overview: The Health & Nutrition Coordinator is responsible for leading and managing integrated health and nutrition programs in Maban, ensuring that interventions are effective, timely, and compliant with humanitarian and donor standards. This role involves strategic planning, implementation, and monitoring of health and nutrition activities, including emergency response initiatives such as Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) and nutrition services. The coordinator will work closely with local health authorities and partners to enhance service delivery and ensure that the needs of affected populations are met. The position requires a strong focus on quality assurance, budget management, and reporting, as well as the ability to adapt to changing humanitarian needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of integrated Health and Nutrition activities, ensuring alignment with approved proposals and national guidelines.
Oversee emergency lifesaving services, including Mobile Medical Units (MMUs), outpatient and inpatient nutrition services, and disease surveillance.
Support rapid response to disease outbreaks, acute malnutrition, and displacement-related needs.
Ensure adherence to Sphere standards, WHO/UNICEF protocols, and national treatment guidelines.
Monitor service quality, clinical governance, and patient safety, and support capacity building of field teams.
Assist in budget oversight by monitoring expenditures and tracking burn rates, and contribute to Budget Versus Actual (BVA) reviews.
Ensure accurate collection and validation of program data and indicators, and oversee donor reporting within agreed timelines.
Serve as the focal point for Health and Nutrition coordination at the field level, liaising with local health departments and partners.

Ensure compliance with organizational policies and promote accountability to affected populations.
Required Qualifications:
Advanced university degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Medicine, Nursing, or a related field.
Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in humanitarian Health & Nutrition coordination.
Demonstrated experience managing emergency/lifesaving programs and familiarity with CMAM, MMUs, and disease surveillance.
Experience working with government health systems in fragile contexts is essential.
Excellent written and spoken English is required, with strong communication skills.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in a relevant field such as Public Health, Nutrition, Medicine, or Nursing. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of health and nutrition interventions in humanitarian settings and for effectively leading programs that address the needs of vulnerable populations.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in humanitarian Health & Nutrition coordination.
