In the Americas and the Caribbean region, ONU Mujeres has a Regional Office based in Panama City, 10 Country Offices, a Multi-Country Office, and programmatic presence in 5 countries in the region. The Regional Office supports governments, civil society organizations, and the United Nations system as a non-resident agency in countries where ONU Mujeres does not have a presence. The aim of ONU Mujeres' presence in the region is to support the achievement of gender equality, women's empowerment, and the promotion and protection of women's human rights. The elimination of violence against women and girls has been identified by ONU Mujeres as one of its main priority areas in the region. ONU Mujeres works to improve the quality and increase the accessibility of coordinated services and responses to violence against women. Additionally, it collaborates with its partners to achieve a common understanding at the regional level regarding the range of services and responses required, as well as the corresponding standards and/or guidelines for the provision of essential services to meet the needs of women and girls suffering from violence. Furthermore, ONU Mujeres actively participates and contributes to various inter-agency processes of the United Nations and collaborates with other organizations in specific programmatic areas.

Job Overview:
The UNV ICT Associate will support the ICT functions in daily operations, considering the increasing number of requests entering through the Services Desk due to the exponential growth experienced by the agency. The goal is to strengthen the area by impacting the effective management of processes to ensure the implementation and achievement of expected results. Under the general guidance of the ICT Associate and the direct supervision of the Regional Operations Manager, the ICT Volunteer provides daily technical support to users of information management tools and technological infrastructure. The incumbent is responsible for reviewing and advising on the use of new technologies that contribute to improving the productivity of the Regional Office. The ICT Volunteer promotes a customer-oriented approach in service delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the general guidance of the ICT Associate and the direct supervision of the Regional Operations Manager, the ICT Volunteer will carry out the following tasks: • Preventive and corrective maintenance of all requested computing equipment. • Installation, configuration, and updating of hardware and software. • Diagnosis, either remotely or physically, of the computing equipment and systems owned by the organization. • Provide Level 1 Technical Support to users, offering remote or on-site assistance as necessary. • Update the inventory of technology-related assets. • Support the creation of profiles in the Trip system. • Assist in creating virtual spaces requested in the Services Desk system. • Manage requests for ID creation for security matters. • Periodically test the functionality of the organization's telecommunications equipment. • Create flow diagrams of the indicated processes. • Manage warranty claims with technology providers.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a strong understanding of ICT systems and tools, with a focus on customer service and technical support. Candidates should demonstrate problem-solving skills, effective communication abilities, and a collaborative spirit. A commitment to gender sensitivity and accountability is essential, as well as the ability to engage with key stakeholders and lead by example.

Educational Background:
Candidates should possess a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Additional certifications in ICT support or management are advantageous and will be considered favorably during the selection process.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have at least 1-2 years of experience in ICT support or a related field. Experience working in an international organization or a non-profit environment is a plus. Familiarity with UN systems and procedures is also beneficial.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, and proficiency in English is highly desirable. Knowledge of additional languages spoken in the region would be an asset.

Additional Notes:
This is a national UN Volunteer assignment, and the volunteer will be responsible for securing their own housing and other essentials for living. The basic benefits for this assignment, according to the United Nations Volunteer Conditions of Service, include a monthly living allowance of USD 1628.06, an entry allowance of USD 350 (one-time payment at the start of the assignment), a departure allowance of USD 120.00 (accumulated per month of service, paid upon successful completion of the assignment), medical insurance, and vacation (2.5 days per month of service).
